Unhappy Steering feels heavy on comfort mode

Hi All,
Loving the forum and the information shared. Learning a lot.

I'll try keep it short. I have a 2014 BMW X5 F15 m-sport 30D (I'm in Aus which is equivalent to the 35D). Its been a great car but recently the front diff was making a whining sound and I had it replaced. Cars done around 100,000kms.

The sound has gone away and the car is all working perfectly apart from one problem. The steering feels heavy in comfort mode. Steering feels like its in sports mode. This was noticeable as soon as I drove it.

I took it back to the mechanic thinking when he replaced the front diff, he did something to the steering, but he assured me he didn't and we couldn't find what the problem could be. He told me to adjust the tyre pressures, thinking it was that but no change.

The steering does get even heavier if you change to sports or sports +. I know the comfort steering was known to be too light but a feature that my wife really liked.

Does anyone here know what the problem may be or a possible solution.

Thanks all.

Yeah, I did see those posts in the forum.

For me its not too big an issue but wife likes the lightness.
And would be good to know what caused it.

Cheers
