Tuning Question

I'm seriously considering adding a "piggyback" tune to my F15 35i. I'm trying to figure out if there is any real difference in the tunes from RaceChip or Burger (JB4 or Stage 1) in terms of the performance, usability, and potential factory warranty concerns? Real life user feedback is much appreciated, as I've read up on the "supposed" gains.

Thanks!

I have a Racechip on my x5 and BMS on my F10 M5.
Both great. PM me if you have any questions.

Warranty.....you have to remove it every time you take it in for service.
Racechip takes 15 mins to install and remove and JBD is a little longer.

Thanks guys. I'm in the Boston area.

I came out of an 2011 E70 35i, which was a great car. But given how much "softer" the F15 has been made (not a fan by the way), it needs something else to compensate for the lack of feel and sound, more HP and Torque may just fill that gap!

I've heard good things about the Burger products. A buddy of mine ran their tune on his 135i.

I think Burger- being US based- has a much bigger user/install base here. The E90 crowd has been running their stage 1 and 2 tunes on the N55 since 2011.

You should poke around in the E9x/F3x N55 technical forums to get a better picture of what you're getting into. From what I gather, the Burger tunes have been reliable with no reported (or publicized) cases of engine or warranty issues.

I have JB4 Stage 2 in mine. Started with Stage 1 as they were saying Stage 2 is not possible on the xDrive. But, I tested it and it works perfect. I even leave it connected when I bring my car in for service, I only disable it so they can do firmware upgrade if needed without detecting any mods attached to the car.
I am not sure how does Racechip work, never had experience with it.
But based on what I found by Google-ing, their setup is similar to the BMS Stage 1, where it only connect to the MAP and TMAP sensor.
Stage 1 itself only take 10 minutes to install and uninstall. The longest time is just to open up the airbox to access the top connector and routing the box into a safe and secure location.

Here is the link for the Stage 1

You will need the Harness type B for the F15. And USB Cable is a must, you can update the map when there is an update and set the map into different one.
