just a quick note to UK buyers.... There are new options on Configurstor for the X5
You can now order Multifunctional display panel and Alcantara headlining. Those are the only new things I can see. Best UK discount anyone? M performance parts available yet? I'm ordering very soon |

Car came with 2PW 20" M Double-spoke style 469M alloy wheels. Its a VERY long story but I now have a set of Winter 19" 467M alloys (Pirelli Scorpion's), currently having a nano ceramic sealant applied and black gator strips. Will publish pictures next week of my new wheels, but for now below are the Performance/Summer Conti's. I looked at BMW.CO.UK and eBay where they have a good site to browse and asked a couple of dealers to quote for the parts I wanted. |

The MFD panel is a full LED cockpit panel so the rev counter, speedo, fuel gauge etc etc is no longer indicated by mechanical needles. Instead it's a high res colour animated screen capable of changing in different modes. All sorts of info can be shown on there like tyre pressures, sat nav, night vision alerts. There are videos to see on YouTube. I don't think you have to have HUD but worth checking out. I had a F10 courtesy car recently that had MFD panel but not HUD HUD is very nice these days compared to my 2010 F10

The MFD panel is a nice upgrade. I was among the first to retrofit it into my F10 550. While it can be ordered with/without HUD, it's usefulness with HUD is somewhat diminished. I tried retrofitting one to my X5 and it physically fit but the car's software could not address it. I didn't get to dig, but remember from my 550 that certain menus weren't available. Entertainment was after I-Level 50.x, but Telephone was not. Also certain other convenience codes that people like don't work, like turn signals.
I'm hoping that its inclusion in the F15/F16 (which are for the most part BMW's most advanced chassis right now) means that they improved it. Also - really interesting that bmw.co.uk has both the X5 and F16 X6 available for configuring with new options but bmw.de does not.

On the m performance parts I had a call from my local dealer who said BMW have package up all the m performance parts (diffusor a wings etc minus brakes) and the 599 alloys for £5500!! They only had 7 kits available on Monday but that's a steal as I paid £4300 for the alloys alone. (Sytner BMW)

How do you find cornering fast? Sharp? Did you go for the dynamic suspension? I've got a local Sytner, my order will be with them or Rybrook

Hi SDRX
It feels sharper around corners and it little but more jittery over bumps. I like the trade off, feels sharp and looks good. There's a link below to the thread with my car+599's I've since had the grille done too http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=992434 |

Big decision is whether dynamic suspension upgrade is worthwhile a fellow poster Parm, see above, might be worth asking him some questions /review One thing without a doubt is that engine is brutally powerful.

M50d is a great car to live with, however as mentioned the engine is brutal
And if you're not about out right performance then stick with the 40d. I try and drive it in comfort mode most of the time but it does rev quite freely and it's very easy to speed too often. In Eco mode it's exceptionally torquey and will pull hard and shift up quickly stopping the urgency of the motor somewhat. It's a great car but M50d is a bit over kill in my opinion but then what do I know my wife's getting her SQ5 on Friday and no way is her car going to have more power than mine |

40d vs 50d .... Troubling choice for sure. I'm asking BMW to have a M50d out on trial for a weekend ASAP.
