LED high beam assist

Hi

Had my 2015 uk x5 4d for a month now. I’ve come from a 5 series that had high beam assist and the x5 has it too. The x5 seems to keep full beam on when I’m behind cars and even on the motorway when there are no lights. At first I thought it was broken but now thinking it’s a different version that I read about that somehow doesn’t dazzle cars. How can I tell?

Thanks

You will find the full beam stays on sometimes in low light, even when you have on coming cars.
This is normal as the beam will dip lower so that it does not affect on coming traffic.
Basically what I am saying is that the beam moves up and down to suit the conditions. Also the beam moves side to side when cornering.
Very clever bit of kit!
Hope this helps.
