How to disable climate control?

Everyday learning more and more about the car but one most annoying experience I have so far is that the climate control comes on every time that I start the car. I could not find any setting that would allow me to turn it off.

Does anybody know how to disable this feature?
Is that how it works across BMW models?

In IHKA2, you need to set to AKTIV the following section,
IHKA2 body -- 3000 -- OFF_MEMORY -- AKTIV.

After that, the AC will remember if "off" or "on" from previous shutdown.

This bugged me when BMW made the X5 Climate Control come on with each start, beginning with the late build 2004 models.

I am curious though, since so many people are either concerned or freaked out by this...Why does it bother you? BMW made it this way to flush the system and keep the car "somewhat" climatized. I like it.

Wait, does it bug you or do you like it? lol. For me, it's mainly because I have a previous temp setting I don't want now or just don't want any on at all. I can see why some would like this, but not me.

I like that the Climate Control comes on when I start the car, and that it remembers what I had it at. 99% of the time, my Auto Climate control is at 68 or 70F, and as BMW recommends...keeping the A/C (compressor) activated. This keeps humidity down during rain/moist weather and keeps the cabin (or at least tries) to keep it cool during hot weather.

It drives me crazy seeing people drive around in modern cars with fogged up windows in the rain. My god....A/C and AUTO people. It's what it is for...since the 1980's LOL.

It bugs me that the climate control comes on when I start the car as I hate having cold air blowing on me first thing in the morning in the winter.

It's slightly annoying but usually I remote start and I know climate control is already on even if I shut it off last so I can always get into a warm (or cooled) car.

i agree with you for the crazy people but for my case i coded imediatly this function only reason that my garage place is under 2 and i have 5 min to get out and this 5 min when the climate works all the bad air off the parking get in. This function is good when you live in a house or you park your car outside...

I love this function. If it's winter and it's in auto It doesn't just blow cold air on you to a point of not comfortable. If it is then you must have the fan blasting when you turn the car off. Either way it's for some but not others. I'm sure if it didn't do this plenty would complain it doesn't. I hated my amg wouldn't turn on to my last setting when I started the car. Especially since I had a remote starter. Either way I love it. It's like that fryer "set it and forget it" lol

If you use Auto mode it shouldn't blow any air (well, very little) until it has warm air to blow. Then the fan will speed up.

Exactly.

Mine is left in auto all the time, and I've never had cold air blowing out on startup in winter

Same with me, but we both have a "d". In the winter the diesels have an amazing "extra" heater, so we get near instant warmth! Love that!!
