I won't be surprised to see the 2027-2028 model come in the i4 guise only.

(Not working off any info I have, just common sense.)

Well, there's that too. On the other hand, even a decade from now, EVs and PHEVs may yet coexist, and even in premium segments where EV adoption will likely far outpace the market as a whole. And those probably wouldn't get the i4 branding. So we could see:

i4 40e
i4 50e
440e
450e

Or something along those lines. Obviously this is just a SWAG - utterly speculative spitballing on my part.

I am SO happy that the F36 is going to run through 06/2021. That will be just when I will be due to replace our 2016 F31. Since BMWNA has decided "no wagons for you", the last of the F36 will be a perfect replacement. I intensely dislike the styling and design of BMW's latest offerings (baroque and over-wrought), so the "sorely dated" F36 will be fine for me. I guess I am becoming a beezer.

Hoping you guys can help. According to this thread the F82 M4 will be in production until 6/20. To me this means there will be a model year 2020 F82 M4 starting production around February 2019 when the 2019s end their production run (on the early side). Is this a correct assumption?

I am trying to order one more F82 and there is some confusion between myself and client advisor on the timing of the new G80 M3 and the EOP of the outgoing F82 M4.

Thanks

When do we get the 330e? I know it's out this summer, but I've read we don't get it stateside until next summer.

Details are scarce but much of it is "read between the lines" stuff based on existing BMW models and insider information from this thread.

Here's what to expect so far:
  • 5-door body style
  • 07/19 SOP
  • Transverse (UKL) platform
  • M135i xDrive model shares (300 HP) transverse B48 with X2 M35i; xDrive only, sport automatic only; virtually the "across the pond" version of the F44 M235i Gran Coupe.
  • M-Sport model equipped with its own bodywork, [non-adaptive] suspension, brakes, steering rack, and 18" wheels.
  • Sports seats standard, M-Sport seats optional
  • Most configurable features that exist on the G20 will also be available/configurable on the F40 (sans RWD).

I agree with all of that and probably the other engine versions will mirror what is currently available in all of the other mini platform cars, B38 and B48 variants and I'd expect for Europe B37 and B47. Unsure if we'll get the diesels here. Low end ones will come in FWD but the M35i one and maybe the hot diesel will be 4wd only.

I will be most interested to see if it gets the Mini Countryman E Hybrid system with the electric engine at the back and the petrol motor driving the front wheels only. I also hope that drivetrain comes to the X1, X2 and all other mini platform cars.

TÜ - Technische Überarbeitung - Technical Revision, sort of like a version number for the engine to mark it has received technical updates to it's operation.
For a software you'd see "version 1.2", here it's B58TÜ(1), N63TÜ3, etc.

Thanks for the info. My dealer told me a hybrid would possibly be available 6 months after launch, but there seems to be debate as to whether we will get a hybrid 1 series

Gotta love BMW's numbering system. The 2 series is G4x and the 4 series is G2x.

What annoys me too is that the F30 is 3 series which makes sense but then the G30 is the 5 and G20 is the 3 series. Arghhhhh

Per the OP, the F36 ends 6/21 which means the G26 should start 7/21. So, you'll have another two years to wait after your lease is up.

Sad news unfortunately Getting another Gran Coupe just doesn't make sense right now as it under-teched and underpowered in comparison to the new 3 series or X4. If you spec a 440I Gran Coupe to match the X4 M40I, they are similarly priced with the X4 having a AWD advantage along with better exhaust sound, more power, newer technology etc..

You are actually in a good spot from some points of view..
You can get the 2019 x4 M40i in the summer, lease for 3 years then make a decision on suv vs gran coupe from the position of ownership experience in the suv... also will time out nicely year 2 of the new gran coupe and lease rates plus any random issues will have settled down from launch.
You may also be able to time out an order and extend your lease to get a 2020 M40i which I believe potentially will get the upgrade to the 382 hp motor from the m340
If you definitely want the gran coupe then just add mppsk port installed which matches the current 355hp M40i for power and exhaust in sport mode is dare I say a bit better than the M40i. Plus rebates on the 4 series should balance
