I got the tips from a friend who bought them for his AMG but did not install. I could not find any good ones online that are 4 inches and have a tiny gap between the tips. Most of them have a larger gap which makes the width 8 1/2 to 8 3/4 inches and it is way too much to fit into the existing bumper hole.

I could not justify paying thousands of dollars for a "muffler with a brand" and went this way. (Supersprint rear exhaust "Sport" is $2,500 with the quad tips w/o x-pipe; AC Schnitzer box with quad 90 mm tips is $2,800; Meistershaft rear box and resonator delete pipes are around $7,500!!! All catalog prices.)

Very happy with the result. The sound is great, the car pulls better at high RPM. No drone or rasp. And love the staggered 4" quad tips. Everything is peachy.

I am not advocating that this is the best solution, but having sold and installed Supersprint, AC Schnitzer, Hamann, G Power, etc. products in Europe, I know that there is only negligible difference in terms of material and performance. The sales point for brand exhaust parts is that they are bolt on, ready to install and proven. So there is no guess work, no anxiety if they'll work. You do your research, see previous applications then you go for it and get the same result.

From what I see, the E70 system has the same configuration as the F15 and it should work the same.

Have you experienced any drone yet? Specifically in comfort mode when lightly accelerating from 1300-1700 rpms?

That's what I'm seeing too on the parts diagram and confirmed with your pic. I appreciate everyones posts. I'll get it done once she's back from having her valve seals replaced. Maybe I'll experiment with an additional resonator but there's only 2 drive modes on my beast "Sunday driver" and "full throttle".

If you'd like to make absolutely sure, you should go with a couple of the Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonators (Part #1141). I had them when installing this setup and they are bigger and suppress noise further. After listening to both, I have decided to go with the bottle type resonators to have it a little louder. I drove less than 100 miles after the install, so the exhaust frequency may change slightly.

I probably won't actually do it. We'll see. I really like the sound/note/tone of my Borla mufflers. The drone is annoying but switching to sport fixes it 100%.

UPDATE:
After 200 miles, I think the break-in period is over for the X-pipe and the dual resonators. I made a clip to show how the exhaust tone of the muffler is after the break-in. I personally feel that it is a little deeper than in the beginning.

I personally feel that it is a little deeper than in the beginning. The Samsung mic can only catch maybe 80% of the volume and frequency of the exhaust.
