Hmm. I think it's kinda abrasive. I will try a small spot on a old steering wheel. Hopefully it's doesn't affect the dye.
The best way to keep the steering wheel in the original condition is steam IMHO. Check Amazon for automotive steam cleaners. I've used every leather cleaning combo under the sun and never got the results I wanted. One time using steam it looked brand new. Works great on seats as well if used properly. Hope that helps.

I'll take your word for it. I've never tried it myself. I've gotten lucky with used cars that have had steering wheels in great conditions.
