found this guy on ebay selling a $1600 rear caliper upgrade that uses Porsche cayenne caliper and custom bracket.. all that fits stock F85 rotor and he also sells that Carbon Ceramic version with again 4 piston rear caliper... here is his website

https://tro-nik.ru/works/bmwf85ccb1/

just not sure how that caliper specs go with X5M brake system...

Yes many threads talking about this exact thing as we speak. And it works just fine. Sure is beautiful and surprising it's not at least an option given it is for the M5.

there isnt any coding for a larger rear caliper that is why i am asking if it would impact brake feel negatively.

Does anyone know why tronik was banned from the forum? They're the team that makes this from Russia.

Probably advertising or posting product without paying but I am only taking a wild guess.

$1600 for rear caliper set, stainless lines and a bracket? Does not include pads or rotors.

Dont know how match the blue color to the front? and worry about the fitment! But $1600 is actually not bad in price for a direct bolt on!

It's a Porsche caliper, so in theory you could buy the right one, rebuild it and have it powdercoated.

Key piece is the bracket for mounting which is where tronik comes in...

I asked them if that's all it was and they said no hence why it's so expensive. They said the caliper has to be modded. Not just the bracket. But then there's the language barrier and me just not knowing. They are crazy Russians who do awesome things.

The calipers can be had for cheap and powder isn't that expensive. And their other brackets sell for $250 which leads me to believe that maybe there is more. Just need someone to try.

They also don't just sell the bracket which also leads me to believe it's more than just attach and roll.

they probably rebuild them with new seals and the typical service then powder coat. a few of the old school audi guys on here may remember BIRA. they used to make custom brackets for brembo calipers to be installed on VAG vehicles also two piece rotors with custom hats and offsets. majority of the money was in the bracket because of the time and effort it took tooling and retooling until you got it right then you needed a minimum of ten sets for the order to be completed if it wasn't part of what they already had designed and sold. they may still be around and they may be able to do this as well... i think there may be ten people in this thread that would be down for this so reaching out to them may be worth the time.

I asked them and bracket alone is $350, then I also compared the OEM porsche caliper to the one they sell and the mounting part is shaved down.... so if you add it all... 350+about 400 for calipers that's 750... then they charge 850 for machining them down and powder coating but only gold and blue..

here are the difference i noticed - seems like the trim very little of it

I might do this. Do they sell pads also. So assuming stock rear rotors would work
