What Porsche is that caliper from? I just cant justify $1600+ for this, i'd rather do it myself, brackets are not that difficult to make...

Yes these are designed to work with oem F85 rear rotors.

has anyone looked into taking the front brembo calipers from the e70 x5m or from the f15/f16 mpbk kit and installing in the rear? they're already blue, they're ready from box in terms of seals etc. and the "kit" is priced very well from the dealer or online.

aren't those 6 piston? with this swap I read that most important thing is to keep the piston sizes as close to original size of single piston OEM caliper due to brake bias and all that... you don't want to have too much grip in the rear because it will throw it all off... I guess cayenne is as closest in size and weight to X5m..

you can probably grind it down yourself or just have a shop mill if down flat -- that shouldn't be expensive not 1k worth ...

Yeah exactly, easy to do it myself. I might attempt this when it comes to changing my rotors

Nope. The F15/F16 MPBK is four piston. I installed them on mine back in the day. The E70 X5M is also four piston.

only difference is that this rotor is so much bigger so may not work for the rear...
I'd be curious to se someone get that fitted on the rear rotor

if it is the same size caliper i am sure it will not have an issue when mounted with the bracket but don't know for certain. i installed x5m rear rotors on my f15 and they were larger. i did not have any issue.

It's not the same size caliper. And the rotor is 10mm smaller (395-385) and 12 mm thinner (36-24).

I've heard of one example but I don't think it's ideal. I mean I guess you could just put the front rotors on the rear as well. With a new hear shield.

what is the size of the rear f85 rotor? perhaps that could work with the front e70 x5m caliper.

Here's my 4 piston kit from Tronik. It's a used caliper set left unfinished as I'll be powdercoating my fronts and want to do them together/match.

The set that he sells on eBay for $1600 are actually new calipers that have been modified. You can go the used route with him to save a little. Beyond the calipers indeed being shaved down at their mounting post, the adapters, there's also two metal plates that the pads adhere too. This is to accommodate for the thinness of the 24mm rotors.

I also worked out a deal to include SS lines all round and got Front adapters for my 6 piston M5 fronts. PM me for any questions.

Just talked to them today. Found it they no longer use panamera but use Touareg cuz they're cheaper. Can't help but notice the price hasn't changed since they made the switch lol. Need to find someone local that can mill these to spec.

You think you can take some measurements of how much they shaved them down?

Touareg is what ECS has used for almost decade on their in-house BBK. Others have sourced used 996 calipers which most often have to be rebuilt and repainted.

Ya nothing wrong with it. Just different than what they originally said they were using before they got banned.

Can you post pictures of those metal plates that go behind the brake pads?
Can you also measure how thick they are?
Lastly can you post a review of that kit and how it feels when you drive?
I know this is asking a lot but thanks in advance!! I'm sure a lot of us will appreciate this!
