I believe even if you don’t have a msport you still have launch control as long as you have the 8 sp auto, there are utube videos out there. You basically put shift lever over to left and then shutoff traction control , I think then when you hold down brake and rev to about 3k rpm you see a little checkered flag on the dash and your ready to go. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong. Left the car shift for itself though.

That's not true as far as I know. You gotta have the "sport" 8 speed transmission that only comes with the M Sport package.
Turning the shifter into sport and disengaging traction control doesn't make it sport+, is via the driving dynamics button. (One more press after sport mode)

I didn’t say it makes it have sport plus , it lets you have launch control and as far as I know there only one 8 speed trans.

I did code the sport transmission, and I have it (shown by S1, S2, etc)

Couldn't find sport plus though. I know some F30 youtube videos showed it, but no such option on mine...

I asked in the coding thread, but it didn't gain any traction (no pun lol)

It is the same transmission with different software management.

As far as I know one of our forum members (Dush) which I believe most of you know, has a non msport and on his videos he has some acceleration runs where it looks like he’s getting almost up to 3k , probably more like 2700 and it seems to launch pretty good even though it may not be true launch control.

M Sport and the 35i have the same transmission. The sport plus is definitely something that can be coded. The launch control I'm not sure about but I know for a fact that sport plus can be added.

Is there any power difference between the S and S+, or just the traction?

When I'm in sport and hit sport+ my revs move up at the same speed.

I remember somebody dyno the sport and sport + before. The graphs shown slightly higher HP and TQ in sport + mode. But I forgot what tune he had. You might find it by searching the forum.

I've been searching this for some time now... I' not having any luck on what to do. Maybe better I just leave it alone. I found some threads about it, but again... No real guidance.
