Can you please provide a picture of the other side of the mirror, looking at the mirror. Is there now a hole since you didnt change out the f15 base to include the loop of the f85 cap?

Hope this pic helps, hard to get a good picture of that area. But there is no hole that would allow water or anything else to get to the mirror internals.

fair enough, for $55 I can live with it and don't really even notice it. Actually gives some shade to the blind spot indicator so it's more visible

Got it from EBAY, it is F15 specific. There seems to be two versions, a retrofit kit and a factory installed kit. The retrofit kit with all the parts is listed here http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/64...ined_undefined The one from ebay was the most complete one I could find with the heater, the fuel pump, and the coolant pump and bypass valve. There are still some hoses that you need as well as the retrofit harness
