X5 CPO Purchase

5 Time BMW owner. Last two were X5 leases. I'd like a good deal on an X5 CPO purchase. I've gone through a few cars, but this looks promising. 2017 $59,500 sticker has 25,000 miles. I'm at $36,000, without loyalty. Is it a good deal? I've included the option list with the retail and consumer BS wholesale.

I appreciate any input.

sDrive with no options for $36K is overpriced IMO.
Here is one with M sport for the same price:

This is one is more expensive but way better equipped:

Agreed, overpriced considering it's an sDrive and has almost no options. That long list of equipment posted above is all standard equipment aside from the Mocha interior & DA package. This X5 must have been a custom order, I don't think I've seen many F15's with so few options.

Also, and I probably sound like a broken record on this topic, by why pay a premium for CPO? The CPO warranty is now just 1 year w/ unlimited miles, so unless you drive a ton I don't think it's worth it. Not when you consider it's small duration, the additional premium dealers charge for a CPO'd vehicle, and the fact the warranty has many exclusions that many buyers are not aware of. It does not provide the same level of coverage as the original 4 year/50K warranty.

That seems expensive for an extremely basic X5. That could be the cheapest build I have ever seen.

What are some options I should be looking for?

We are on our second black on black X5. We want a new color.

Comfort Access and 360 Camera are two things I don't see spec'd that would be a must have for me. Multi contour front seats would also be high on my list as the stock seats get alot of criticism for not being comfortable.

I think most of the people here look for M-sport as a must, comfort seats are nice, your choice of color for exterior/interior, 360 camera and DA+ are must have for my wife. For me X drive is better vs S drive, LED lights, paddle shifters. Check out order guide for 2017 X5 so you better understand what was available.

If any of you are in So Cal... I'm working with Nick Alexander. I also have a call in to Palm Springs. I'd really like to get this done this weekend if not sooner. I don't mind a drive to turn in my old lease and buy the CPO car.

Speaking of, what's a resource to learn the difference between CPO warranty and purchasing a new warranty? I think we'll have the car about 2-3 years.

CPO warranty info - https://cpo.bmwusa.com/warranty/

Can't compare unless we know specifically which new warranty you're talking about. Assuming you mean 3rd party? Lots of options out there - inclusive or exclusive, which company, years/miles, deductible, etc.

Just wanted to say thanks for your help. Were are still on the lookout. Well optioned cars are going for 42-44k. If the cars were approx 62-64 at MSRP, I know I'm overpaying. Right now our next big hang up is that we gave two pair yments on a lease. I'm being told Pull ahead is no longer an option.

I thought it was a decent price considering the vehicle was leased through the dealer I bought from and all maintenance was done there(records to back it up). this combined with new Michelins on all four corners, new brakes(pads and rotors) and complete fluid / filter changes

Grrr, quick question. How reasonable is it to insist they do rear brakes when they claim 5,400 miles are left. There isn't a lot of pad there.

If CPO you have time, that depends on the dealer, some will try to avoid doing it at all costs some will do it no questions asked, especially if you complain about squeaky breaks
