Gear Shifter scratch - help
Guys and Gals,
When we bought our X5, it has a scratch on the clear section of the gear shifter to the right of "R". I have been trying to polish this out, it looks a lot better, but it is just too deep. Looking through some old threads, it appears that this can be replaced? Has anyone done this, one post mentioned that the glass is glued in, but can be removed using a trim tool, but what do I then use to glue it back? As an fyi, if you buy a new replacement one, it comes with a double-sided adhesive sticker already applied to the back of it. You just peel off the backing and press the new cover into place. So the OEM one isn't glued on, just "stuck" on.
