X5 50i lowered on Dinan Springs

Took a calculated chance that these would work with my X5 50i. They are meant for the X5M but I did notice that lowering springs/links for the X5M matched the 50i lowering springs/links for the ones with the self-leveling.
Install went well with no issues.

Before & After

Ride is very similar to stock. I also purchased the Ride & Handling kit.

Very nice! It's a Dinan set, you got front springs only correct?

I am sorry, but I don't see that much of a difference with Dinan Springs.

It looks like only drop 0.25" to 0.4".

Also, is the x5M also lower to begin with than the x5 5.0?
Ride quality barely deteriorated. I’ve ridden in h&r and Eibach x5’s. I didn’t like the ride too much.

With the 21” wheels/tires I’d like to keep as much ride quality as I can. I removed run flats as well.

I have my M3 if I want to drive a lower car so this spring setup made sense to me.

i agree. for the price of the springs and labor, i don't see much of a difference in height change.

There is a .625" reduction in height for the front using Dinan springs on X5M.

First I've seen of this. I find it interesting that none of the spring manufacturers recommend trimming the bumps. I have H&R springs - do you think these would help?

Dinan sells replacement bump stops and recommends replacing with the springs but they have the most conservative reduction in height compared to the others. I am not sure how well these would work with other brands.

Pretty sure they're just the bump stops from the M5. And they're not really required for such a small drop. Didn't do them on mine with eibach and they were about a 1" drop.

Also that rear doesn't look even with the front at least not the gap. 21" wheels solve that though for sure.

I am not sure which they are but I would install them if you're lowering the vehicle. As for the rear the height can be adjusted. On the Dinan set up or ACS I would suggest leaving the stock links in and having a nice rake effect without impacting rear comfort for passengers or risking airbag failure.

Hopefully after a few miles it settles in because I can't see much of a difference right now.

Congrats on the install regardless!

4.4 V8 TT with the 3rd row so I have the auto leveling rear air suspension.

These are the Dinan Springs for the X5M that I put on an X5 50i with rear air suspension.
