For emblems no need to take them off. Just mask around the emblem and leave a 3/4 inch gap. You want some of the car paint to show between the emblem surface and the tape. If you tape too closely to the emblem then the tape will pull up the Plasti Dip from the emblem surface. When you spray cover the emblem and masked off gap.
One down (feels much better than the original round start/stop button):

SUNDAY FUNDAY

Wrapped the interior chrome, not so easy DIY gotta give props to the people who do this on the daily. First time wrapping, took roughly 2.5 hrs, wrapped with the trim on, some imperfections, debating on redoing some sections, and still have the door trims to tackle.

Wrapping the dash pieces and knees pads were easy compared to the door lol

I just did the driver door after putting it off for months. I almost just want to order the x5m interior pieces cause the doors are a pain and not a fan of the outcome.

Yes it looks and also feels much superior to the original black one. Just have to spread the clay across the whole button, let it sit for a minute or two and then yank vigorously and quickly.

Took an attempt at the mewant wrap you did. A little rough around the edges but I'll take it in comparison to the average cost of a new m-performance wrapped wheel. Might but another and go full alcantara but will see how long this one holds up.

No I didn't end up buying it. Don't feel like doing the labor just yet lol. I ended up getting some "hyperdip" (the new and improved plastidip formulation) and starting blacking out the emblems (although I'll likely get the black roundels from IND.

Thanks for posting those. How do you think it would look without those flaps on the rear outside? I was debating on not putting them on but just the middle/defuser part. I've been searching for a pic but can't find one.
I remembered seeing someone with the rear diffuser without the side flaps. Looks good in my opinion with or without.

Hard to go wrong with the CF ones, although the OEM ones are outlandishly expensive. There are however some decent aftermarket offerings (generally in the M style).

Yeah the black roundels from IND was one of my first mods. I did try to plasti dip them but didn't go so well

IMO if you go cf mine as well go cf for all the add-ons. I think it would just look better instead of having some add-ons in cf and some gloss black, but to each their own.

I got them form amazon and the fitment was perfect. Looks like the seller I got them from doesn’t have them anymore but just go with prime and return if you don’t like. But mine fit perfect.
