I may be wrong, but I think the no towing applies to Sdrive models only.

Cost was definitely a major factor, but not the only one. I like the warranty with MPPK, although Dinan software does too. I just wanted to start with MPPK, and then build from there. I knew eventually I would stack the MPPK with either Dinan Sport, or RaceChip, and would yield similar/more power. I haven't done that yet, but will soon. After driving with the MPPK for a few months now, I'm very happy with my decision. The X5 runs very strong in sport mode. Effortless speed. I would highly recommend it 👍🏻

$1188 out the door is a steal. Dealership where I purchased mine quoted me $1600 out the door....

$1600 seems really high. I think the tune itself is only about $1100 from BMW? The dealer matched the lowest price I found online. I was happy.

Yes, they wanted $1170 for the tune and $300 to install + tax which in my area is 10%. Id probably do it for $1200 but for $1600 ill pass. This was from the dealer i purchased my car at which is not the closest to me. I even offered to have my car serviced there exclusively if they would work with me on this. no dice.

I FINALLY got my MPPK installed today. My tune price was a little less but the labor was a bit more than what you were quoted.

Excited test it this weekend.

ahhh Sweet! Great Combo!

I thought about doing MPE while installing MPPK as well but couldn't convince myself to spend that much on labor. May try and find a used one then go to an indy shop.

Hello all! New member here. Purchased my new to me 2016 x35i last month from BMW of Darien. They were able to price-match the MPPK and I got it for $1050 installed. Got the car back two days ago. I'm all excited now, but still haven't seen the full effect yet; probably need to wait until I finish a full tank of gas first =)

What do your Sport Gauges show?

Just wondering what you all are seeing on your sport gauges after the MPPSK install?
I did a few WOT from a dead stop in sport mode and this is what my gauges registered (hash marks), about 325/340 hp/tq:

Thought that is what it gives you? It does not get you anywhere near 400hp.

No, not at all. BMW info list the MPPPK software as a 20/32 increase for HP/TQ so my reading is approximately that amount over the stock 300/300 for HP/TQ. So I'm good. I was just wondering if anybody else sees the same results.

I bought a used 2015 X5 35i about a month ago with 43K miles, knew I would be adding the MPPK once I read about it. Local dealership wanted list price for the "parts" plus 1.5 hours of labor for install ... no thanks. Talked them down to $100 for labor and said I would supply the kit (11122344610). Was going to source it from getbmwparts.com for $975, but I lucked out and got it from a BMW dealership on eBay for $850. Just got the programming done today, definitely feels stronger already, but hoping it improves even more after a week or so like people mentioned.

Doesn't sound like the MPE adds any power, just sound, so I'll probably pass on that since the wife drives the car as well. Best way to add additional power if desired? See people talking about RaceChip ... good idea to add that on top of the MPPK? Looks like the RS would be best bang for buck.

Sorry didn't see this, but if you check my other post, I bought the parts online and then the dealership charged me $100 for the "install".

No problem. I was able to have bmw of Brooklyn do it for $170. Had to drop it off for a few hours but got a loaner.

If she drives in eco, she would not notice it at all, but then again would you really need the mppk if it’s always in eco/comfort?!
My wife rolls her eyes at my cold starts with the MPE and MPPK, says “as long as you like it”.

However, in sport mode it's a whole different animal. The power is noticeable throughout the rev range, and the torque push is addictive. It pulls hard to redline. The midrange power is where, I feel, the biggest improvement is.

I will try to take video of the exhaust note under power so ya'll can hear what it sounds like.

Stay tuned...
Agreed 100% with this assessment.
