I was looking recently as I'm considering change to ceramic on my X5M and found hawk pads available.

I'm considering Z23 series pads from Power Stop. The downside to this is you have to use the F10 M5 pad on the front which is a bit smaller. There's at least one other forum member with that setup but can't remember his name and on my phone so am not going to search.

There is a service bulletin for the brakes. You can get rotors and brake pads free of charge at the stealer👍🏻 night and day difference if your car is making a lot of noise under braking.

Mixed results. Doesn't always solve the squealing for everyone

I just replaced rotors and pads on mine about 2 weeks ago. I bought the pads from CARiD.com - I paid $142.79 for the front and rear pads, shipping and tax incl. So far, I am loving the fact there is very little dust after driving a week between washes. No noise and they work as well for me on some hard braking. I will include info at the bottom.

The rotors are from bmwpartsnow.com - I paid $1,092.13 incl. standard shipping of $42.31. These are OEM Rotors.

Posi Quiet™ Premium Semi-Metallic Rear Disc Brake Pads by Centric more details on - https://www.carid.com/2016-bmw-x5-br...specifications

You can buy them several places online, including summit racing, ECS, and even Amazon. Just confirm the part number on Hawk's site and search for it.

There was also a forum member selling the Hawk HPS (not ceramic) set a bit ago:

can you post the service bulletin?
Guys make sure your dealer has an m technician perform the service and that they have all the parts. The results should be significant. The dealer wants you to think otherwise but it is really not the case.

I can't speak for everyone's experience but what I can say is to make sure an m technician touches your car and the dealership understands this is a service bulletin and the scope of the repair is outlined by BMW.

If you guys get it done please share your results. I had mine done on an 18 x6m and the difference is night and day.

The front pads are on national backorder (and have been for months). If you have a relationship with the parts manager, they can tell you what dealers have stock so you can call them directly.

There are pros and cons to aftermarket pads, The Hawk pads are quieter and have significantly less dust. The tradeoff is initial bite of the pads.

In my case, my dealer was not willing to do anything about my noisy brakes as "you already have the revised pads" but you should give it a shot with your dealer.

Is that really the case? I got the updated pads recently. It sounds like your dealership is pulling your leg.
