When do you put on your winters in VA/MD/PA?

Curious as I'm a transplant from NC to MD...

Also because I don't want to have to cart them from the garage to the basement when I pick them up today if I'm going to end up putting them on in a few weeks....

I watch the weather and prefer to wait as long as possible. It has been staying pretty warm here well into sometimes Nov. That being said, usually around Nov 1. As long as temps don’t go into 40s you’re good.

Stupid question.
I have the MPSS and this is my first winter.
My X6M isn't my daily driver plus I have the swisstrack on my garage plus a heater.

Does anyone forsee a problem...?

What are asking? Whether you'll be okay with MPSS in the snow? No, you will not be okay. But then you mentioned your garage floor and heater, so are you also asking about storing your X6M over the winter (but I doubt that's what your are asking bc why would you do that with an awd suv?).

OP, I usually wait until well after Thanksgiving, and you're not too far from me.

Well my X6M isn't my daily driver, sorry but my SAC is alittle to special for me...I'll want to take the wife out to dinner on a nice crisp night...never will I drive around 30 or below and never in snow, because of the tires...and who would want to drive a 700hp SAC with a tune in the winter, just not for me...I was just curious on a typical 40's sunny day...how dangerous would it be...

Thx

Not "dangerous" by any means. And what's a SAC?

Enjoy the car year round. In a few years you'll be ready for something else and won't even remember your SAC!!

Vehicles should be driven, not garaged!

Thanks for the input all. It'll be sometime in NOV I put them on, just picked them up from the local tire shop and they are ready to go...

This gives me time this winter to get my Vossen's ceramic coated too, maybe I need to do the brake calipers as well...

If you only drive on a crisp night and never in the snow and never in 30 or below, why do you even need the winters?

For me I drive my SUVs year round and the M3 stays garaged for good days. Winters go on Nov/Dec, I watch the weather to determine. Stored in my garage and I put them on myself so can easily do it overnight if I know its going to snow earlier than anticipated.

I don't that's my point.
Just want to see is the MPSS will be a hockey puck during these conditions because im trying to avoid winter tires as this isn't my daily.

Thanks for your feedback

I wait until the temps are consistently below 40 before switching out. I think last year I made it to almost December. Wouldn't go with a hard date with how we can have unseasonably warm or cold temps. I never put the PSS's back on until almost May this year because the temps here on PA/MD line were still dropping hard for days at a time. Watch the weather... you'll know when.

BTW, great color combo... 😬

Well, I hate to say it but it's that time of year. Temps here starting Friday night will be in the 30s. Taking off my big girl wheels and putting on my winters Thursday.

Just in time for the weekend I dread all year long - Clock change. My evil twin is about to come back, I hate that cranky bitch.

Yah. My winters are on and wow is the handling impaired. Bouncy in turns and lacks sharpness all around. I can run in Sport+ on bumpy roads no problem. Straight line fine !!!

Anyone have a preference over the Pirelli Scorpion's vs Yoko BlueEarth? Do the Pirelli's warrant the extra money?

I don't think so. I've had no issues on my Yoko's. It's winter, no need to drive insanely hard.
