A lot of assumptions but I figure since it is alpina mapping that it would account for stock alpina configuration (full OEM exhaust and so on). So off the top of my head, alpinas may have different turbos and possibly different/larger coolers from the M version.

With that being said since your stock safest bet is to stick to stage 1. Stage 2 I believe suggests you get catless DPs
Logging still recommended
When I emailed pro tuning freaks they told me that stage 2 ran more boost than alpina 600hp tune. Also the alpina tunes were designed around the different alpina turbos.

Have you tried that stage 2 e30 map? That is the most aggressive of them all for the n63tu.
No, I have not. I do not have downpipes installed.

I just flashed it in a couple days ago. I agree much more aggressive.

These totally make sense, since a BM3 tune makes the 50i make as much power and move as much air as the X5M. Doesn't make sense to pay $900 for a tune and some more $ for dyno time when a couple of $45 filters are holding the engine back.

Part numbers are 13-71-7-850-055 (right side) and 13-71-7-850-056 (left side).

I get mine here: https://www.getbmwparts.com/v-2017-b...ation--filters
Hi, do you know if these filters will fit X6 F16 50i?
They are of different shape size it seems.

They share same engine
Same intake box

and requires two filters which are different in shape from each other so make sure you dont order two of the same part numbers. You should order two different part numbers one for each side as the pervious member listed.

Step up would be getting the filters from the X5m which also fit again two part numbers for these as well.

Hi, you seem to talk about 2 different sets of filters and none of them are the original for my car. Mine are both the same with one part number.

You talk about the ones from X5M and what is the other set?

The original filters that came in your X6 50i and the X5M filters interchangeable

The shape of the x5m filter is different (to allow more air) but mounts and fits properly into these cars X5 50i / X6 50i / X5M / X6M

Hope this clears it up

Talking with BM3 now on gains for E30 on the N63TU.

As soon as I get some confirmation (and potential gains/dyno verification) then I was going to flash my 550 and hopefully hit up the track tonight. As long as the rain holds off...

Ran at irwindale 1/8 drag the other night and mustered 3 runs
with temp at 65F and Density altitude was 1300ft

Running e30 bm3 s2 tune and catless dp (e85/91 blend)

Starts off bully with a bit of wheelslip but feels like it tapers down
I sent them over a log to see what they think.

BM3 says the e30 map should add 31% HP / 33% TQ.

But, went to the track after mixing up some e30 and loading the map. It sucked. Idk what happened here, I was a second faster on stage 2 93 map. 60' was still good (1.8x).

Datalogs show that I was down on boost by several pounds. Working with BM3, damn good customer support

After checking my logs I am also not reaching target boost on e30 map.
I just refueled and reloaded alpina stage0+ and waiting for support to get back to me.

Let us know what they say

Ok, good. Was hoping it just wasn't something with my car. Makes me feel a little better about the situation. I'll go fill up with 93 and go back to stage 2 OTS map.

I'll report back once I hear anything.

I recently got stage 1 93 octane tune on my 50i. New plugs new filters just did fresh oil change. I started to notice x5 started chugging gas. The number where it says how many miles to gallon left fluctuates alot and i drive super conservative. No aggressive driving. There was a code of car running rich i used ista to check. so i changed maf sensors both of them. I just took the tune off today and wanted to see if car goes back to normal. Anyone else has had that experience where gas consumption went too high and running rich.

Hey! New here,
X5 50i 2015 n63Tu, 83k miles odo
Mods are x5m filters, stage 2 (aggressive bubbles) bm3 tune,
Down pipes, and x pipe with resonator delete and catless. Just
The muffler is left, I've been reading through the replies of this post
And seeing people get 3.5 0-60 without launch control and dsc off
And I'm contemplating on launching my car in the same manor,
Does anyone think you engine will blow up? That's the only thought
Holding me back, I've never even launched it since I got it tuned.

Make sure you're fuel is right, spark doesn't miss and as mentioned let it sing

If you want to take monitoring to the next step you could (and I suggest) taking a log. Nothing gives satisfaction and peace of mind like a good clean log every now and then.

Quarter Mile Time 2011 X5 E70 50i

Took my 2011 X5 50i to the drags on the weekend, best run was 13.66. Outside air temps were 33C / 92F. I'm happy with the time for a stock car.

That is the plan - out of interest what is your 1/4 mile time, high 12's?

Do it!!! I have the same setup except for the X pipe delete, my DP's are catless, you didn't mention if yours are. My car runs around 3.6 without LC according to my dash cam. Oh yeah, I have the xHP trans mod which made a major difference in acceleration because of shifting. If shifts like a race car with DTC off. It does decrease your mileage about 1.5 mpg though. The car (SAV) can handle it, not much else around here that can touch it.

New to tuning

Hey guys, I’m new to tuning and I am super excited about it. I’ve had my 2017 F15 50i for about two years now and finally decided it’s time to tune the baby. I’ve just ordered the JB4 tuner and the X5M intake filters. I have a couple questions about downpipes and charge pipes. I cannot seem to find any charge pipes for this f15 chassis with the N63TU engine. Is this necessary if I pursue a meth injection kit? As far as downpipes, I would love catless pipes but the shop in my area says I would have to trailer in the car and trailer out the car because it would not be street legal after the installation. Does anyone have any experience with that? Am I better suited for high flow catted pipes?

Thanks guys and I appreciate any additional recommendations. I have literally read every single page of this thread already and have learned quite a bit!
