F025 covers F015.

Got it, thank you. And just to confirm, coding an F85 is exactly the same as F15? Select Target Connection F025 via VIN in ESYS?

F025 psdzdata covers F015/F016/F025/F026/F085/F086

Hey I've got a 2018 X5 and I'm pretty new to the ESYSX software. Is it possible to see coding done through OBD commands? So far I've only seen guides connect through ethernet.

Can you elaborate?

ENET = OBDII to ethernet.
OBDII is car side
Ethernet is computer connection

I want to duplicate the diagnostics messages that are going through the OBD port when ESYSX is writing the adaptations. I'm making a tool which will allow me to quickly change settings through my phone which is connected to a bluetooth OBD2 device.

In the past I've done this on a VW Jetta using VCDS and it was pretty straight forward once I figured out how to listen to everything. Now with the BMW I'm not sure what I want to do will even work.

It depends on the adapter. Bimmercode is able to make changes, but no all adapters are created equal.

Ah ok that tool has everything I'm looking for. Unfortunately I still need to make a simple application with one button for all the settings for my wife.

Do you know if security access for $2E commands is necessary? If so, any tips for the seed/key generation? I was able to figure out the VW encoding pretty quickly but I have a feeling this won't be as simple.

Personally never looked into it, so not sure.

You wont have FP (Vehicle Profile) Data. You don't need it for anything though.

As for CAFD Data, Trimmed PSdZData means either E-Sys has Incorrect Target Connection, or you do not use E-Sys Launcher to open E-Sys, or you use E-Sys Launcher PREMIUM but select wrong car Series or this particular ECU CAFD is not mapped in E-Sys Launcher's CAFD Mapping Database, or you have insufficient Java Memory in order for E-Sys Launcher to map it.

Thanks, how do I find out which of possible issues is the one I need to to fix.
I generate the token and link it in esys under settings. Esys loads the data from the car fine

As it is an ethernet connection to the OBD2 port, i'm not sure if it's an encrypted connection. That said, you can try installing wireshark and do a deep dive of the packets going back and forth. If it's clear text, you'll see the commands but encrypted would look like gibberish.

What I'm doing is right on the canbus. I've just been using esysx as a way to get the commands I need. I found a K-CAN line I just did the coding and watched for the commands going to the module.

What I'm stuck on is the module requires security access to accept my commands. It gives me an 11 byte seed and expects a 132 byte key which I think is pretty bonkers.

If there is a more appropriate thread or place to be asking about this please let me know.

Hi almaretto thank you for the reply. I looked at the two links that you sent me and I’m not understanding what I should be looking for. Are you saying the PSdZdata file is installed incorrectly. Thank you again for the help. I’m sorry to be a pain.
