Cooling fan loud and then some
I have a 2015 X5 and when we turn it on, the cooling fans are extremely loud. Not only that, hot air comes from the floor vents and the radio doesn't come on. These don't happen separately. This is the second or third time it has done this but it stops.
Also, we had the oil service last done at the end of June with 69K miles and now we're at 72K. We've had to add oil already and there seems to be an oil-burning smell. This is not related to what I mentioned above. Anyone ever experience this? |

Just bought a used 2018 f15 35d. The rear HVAC blower keeps blowing/running. I have turned off and deselected every manual selection on the dash and have gone into iDrive controls. It keeps blowing even after the car has been turned off and locked. Basically ran all day and almost drained the battery. I pulled fuse #160 and that turned off the blower motor. Anyone else experience this issue? Car has less than 40K miles on it, very clean otherwise so assuming it is a controller and not neglect from the old owner. Also, this is a BMW certified purchase from a local Florida dealer. I would have thought they would have observed this and fixed it before selling it. I was unfamiliar with the vehicle so I just thought it was part of the climate control system.

Bmw 2019 usb next map does not update...
Just bought this part today (PN 65-90-2-465-433). It is VIN correct & I have a current 2-years FSC certificate. After installed the USB drive in the center console USB drive, the display informs that the drive contains updated data, do you wish to update. Yes is selected, next display instructs to insert the USB device to start the update. Nothing happens & the only option with the iDrive wheel is to cancel. Any ideas what I did wrong or what the correct procedure is?

Battery Registration
Quote:
I installed a replacement battery of the same type(AGM) and same CCA 900 but the CA, and AH are slightly different. I was wondering how important it is to have the exact battery specs or can I just register the battery as new as they are the same type and CCA. The Ah difference between the original BMW battery and the replacement is only 5 Ah |

Entertainment Center issues
Our X5 seems to be stuck on AUX mode. We’ve never plugged anything into the AUX port, but no matter what we do we can’t get it to switch to Bluetooth or USB. When we have something plugged into the USB port, it doesn’t register as connected, and although the connectivity screen shows our phones as connected via Bluetooth, it does not show the same when you try to choose it as the method of playing audio - it shows nothing is connected via Bluetooth.
Has anyone had this issue or have an idea of a fix? |

Hey everyone. It's not an issue, but more concern. Recently traded in my F10 for 2018 X5 with N55 engine. Had the dealer to change oil, regardless it wasn't due yet. I know that oil change interval is 10k miles, but why my cluster is showing 8k miles? Thanks.

Water pump won't turn off causing dead battery
I have a 2015 BMW X5. Last week, I walked out and the car was dead. Having never replaced the battery I assumed the battery just needed to be replaced. I took it to my mechanic he replaced the battery and I was on my way. Walked out to my car on Friday and the car was dead again. Got it jumped started and off to the mechanic. Found out the water pump is not turning off and is draining the battery. You may think it is a bad water pump but my mechanic, another mechanic and the dealership agree the water pump is fine. They have spoken with mechanics in other cities that have had similar issues and found two things: 1. The issue typically resolves for no known reason 2. It doesn't resolve but the water pump turns off when the car is locked. I have found this as a common issue on the message boards but no resolution on how it was resolved. They are replacing the temp sensor as someone in another thread mentioned this may be the culprit. If you have had this issue how did you resolve it?

I was wondering if anyone has seen something similar to this issue im facing on my F15 X5 50i 2016.
When the engine is cold I drive down the street at 45-50 kmph in comfort mode and the engine sits at 1k RPM and sounds like its lugging. I'm barely putting my foot down and I know they are torquey V8s but still seems to be causing undue stress. If I accelerate it just drops down a gear and all is good, but I take my foot off the accelerator and its back to its 1k RPM lugging. I just put it in sports mode and cruise at 2k RPM but wondering if this is normal. Maybe its just an awkward speed/gear + a ever so slight incline. |

Dropped my F15 for tires swap and alignment today. A bit later got a call from SA saying that my rear differential is leaking. 28k miles.

All season 285/35R21 and 325/30R21???
It seems I may be searching for something that doesn't exist given my research to date, but figured I'd ask this group since I've found a lot of useful info here previously.
On my X5 50i I have 21" x 11.5" rear wheels and 21" x 10" front wheels with 325/30R21 and 285/35R21 tires respectively. I'm currently running Pirelli P Zero summer RFTs. Yesterday we had some light snow in the DC metro area and my X5's performance was awful compared to my previous X3 where I had all season RFTs (smaller wheels and all the same size). Based on my online research, it appears my current setup just doesn't lend itself to performing well in the snow, but I'm curious if folks have found any good A/S RFTs in the sizes noted above. I need to be able to drive in the snow, and I don't want to switch to snow tires every year, so I'm considering swapping out the wheels to accommodate A/S RFTs, but I really love my staggered setup and would hate to lose it, so figured I'd check if anyone has solved the issue I have. Note that I'm willing to go down to a 20" staggered setup if folks have found A/S RFTs for that setup. Appreciate any feedback! |

Agreed I have a set of 21” 375 wheels with the Pirelli p zero Rft’s and I run my original stock 19” with all season for the winter , but when they wear out will probably install dedicated snow tires. To the OP you can probably find a nice set of 19 or 20” in the classifieds for less or bout the same as 4 new tires . Driving on summer tires are no fun even though you have Awd good luck !
