Tesla is out innovating and executing BMW every which way.

We won't be driving in our life times. They need to evolve past the ultimate driving machine, because the future of luxury means not driving, protecting our global environment, etc..

Automotive Battery packs have had a few years of innovation...... combustion engines decades.

They'll create much reusable environmental energy packs soon enough.

Any high end car that gets a 'Special Edition' plaque that's really not (or doesn't include a seriously limited edition 1 of 10 type thing) is just plain nonsense.

I almost laughed at the Embossed X3 piece in the 2018 reveal. I think it's by the cup holders? Really BMW, we need to see that so we know what we spent our $ on?

It is all marketing gimmicks. BMWNA thinks that these gimmicks will make up for their terrible changes in policy regarding leasing and ED discounts. It will not....

I like the seats/interior. I thought of getting the MR interior but it was just too much red for me. This would be a good interior option. I already did black kidney grills and side vents. Other stuff doesn't do it for me.

That interior is amazing, although it probably won't be worth the premium that will be charged. I'm done being surprised with stuff like this. I'm still numb from watching the manual transmissions drop out of production on most models and dealing with the fact that FAKE engine noise gets pumped thru the speakers. Just think about that.

I think that a "normal"/ configured one is still a better alternative.

I'd be so embarrassed any time somebody sat in the passenger seat and read "black Fire"... I can see them looking over at me like "dude are you actually serious about this?"

That said (flame suit on)... despite the goofiness with naming I think the interior looks awesome.

That's because you are probably normal.

There are people who define their life by their car and for some reason this appeals to that sub culture. Tacky wings and neon colors etc usually go along with that. The fact that bmw is pandering or trying to attract that type is what's really disturbing
