I will probably be installing them in a couple of weeks time so will put a pic for you then. They're really good in terms of quality but obviously it's fake carbon fibre so it will be interesting to see how they last over time.

Funny thing. I bought the x5 50i primarily for my wife, but ended up enjoying it so much that she's taken over the 2010 535 wagon as her primary daily. X5 does make loading kids in/out even easier than the wagon with a higher roof height.

I know this isnt the classifieds but since these parts deal directly with this thread, I figured itd be ok to post them in here. I bought these things last year and have decided to not go this direction.

I just started to mod mine: X-pipe, resonator delete, muffler mod with pneumatic straight pipe cutouts.
I am in no mood to weld under a car anymore so removed the entire system and built a jig. Will post pics and video when its done of how it sounds for those interested. |

What advantage does an x-pipe have in this exhaust system? I have catless downpipes already installed and am content with the noise levels, but the exhaust note is a bit funky.

Installed X-pipe and resonator delete (muffler is still stock). Sounds AMAZING inside the truck but outside...not so much, HORRIFIC cold startup, like a dozen straight pipe Hondas in your garage, strange trumpet-like sounds between shifts. Again Inside you don't hear any of this and sounds awesome but outside the truck....yikes....Was hoping the X-pipe would eliminate the need for the stock resonators. On positive side there is a noticeable mid range and higher increase in power, assuming this is due to the X-pipe. Ordered a pair or 3" race resonators to install, going to install them temporary at first with clamps just in case I want to try other resonators before weld them in permanent. Tascam Stereo Mic just arrived, will get before and after for those interested. |

Finished installing the new resonators and aboustely love how it sounds now. Highly reccomend this combo of resonator and X-pipe to anyone still using the stock muffler.
( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072C6FD5H and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BJZ7FTC ) Overall Cold Start is louder but that is due to the downpipes, idle and part throttle/cruise at highway speeds are only very slightly louder, just a slight deep rumble in the background, your kids and significant other will only notice if you point it out. Love the sound at full throttle now inside and outside the truck. In the next week or two I will be adding vacuum actuated cut-outs to bypass the muffler and will post up some clips of how that sounds. I am hoping this will uncork more power as much as I love the sound now, the design of the stock muffler has to be one of the most restrictive I have ever scene. Done on purpose I am sure to keep the power down and away from M levels. Here are a few clips of it during cold start, revving, and a drive by Revving from Idle: https://soundcloud.com/project-n63/b.../s-Xqryt3Ij9oU Drive By: https://soundcloud.com/project-n63/b.../s-ULu9mQdpe4e Cold Start: https://soundcloud.com/project-n63/b.../s-ANJ39IanIVS Last edited by Sophisticated Redneck; 07-17-2020 at 03:54 PM.. |
