Design Refresh and 21 inch tires - Questions
Hello all,
Can anyone remind me when is the X5 next due for its major redesign? Also, can anyone tell me if 21 inch tires come in All Season versus Summer or Winter? (I can't seem to find such on Tirerack etc) Thanks! |

The refreshed car (G05) just came out like a month ago.

I was also looking at 21” tires and could only find summer max performance tires and dedicated snows but no all seasons. At least the Michelin pss wear and ride better then most max performance tires.

BMW skipped the F15 LCI so the X5 could catch up to the rest of the models in terms of design, otherwise it would also be a half model refresh behind. Great for new buyers, bad for us owners.

I know price wise there very reasonable, but performance and wear wise how are the reviews? I guess I should search! Lol . But then again I have run the Michelin PSS’s on many of my cars and love there performance and comfort, so even though they cost more will most likely go with those and keep the stock wheels with all seasons for winter time. Sorry for going OT

I think there are a lot of us that’s looking forward to your review. I like the MPSS too, but if the Accelera’s perform well I may consider going away from summer/winter swap.

All though I agree with you about the hassle of going summer/ winter swap and just running all seasons year round, I live in the northeast and would not like to subject my nice wheels to the crap weather. I’m about to purchase a set of 375’s ( aka best bmw Oem wheel) after the holidays, they have pzero rft’s currently mounted on them but will most likely get the Michelin’s once they wear out and run my stock 19” with all seasons for winter.

Agree, I fortunately don’t have to worry about the harsh winter conditions.
Congrats on the 375’s! |

Central Virginia winters are nowhere near as harsh as Northeast, but we still get a fair amount of snow/ice/sleet. Hell, we got a foot 6 days ago and now I have to wash all the salt and shit off for the next week. The pot-holes that come after are my biggest concern. Most are not repaired until we get into May or later. The main issue I have are when it drops below 30-40 degrees, the soft rubber in the summer tires become stiff and lose their grip. We don't have to worry a whole lot about that being an all-wheel drive SAV, but it gives me a piece of mind going into the late fall and winter season and allows the time I have the winter wheels/tire on to be much shorter.
