Single Name Voice Command Call Not Working

When I try to call someone that's in my phone with only one name...say "Mom" or something, the Voice Command doesn't seem to recognize that. It goes to "Enter Phone Number" instead. Anyone else having this issue?

I called a few times with single name and no issues.

Are you passing through to Siri or Google Now by holding down the voice command button for a 2count, or are you using the native voice command?

Hmm- it's pretty bad, but shouldn't be all that glitchy. Honestly, I'd just pass through to Siri (or Google Now). Way more reliable/flexible. Good luck.
