F15 50i with Racechip GTS Black - any experience?

Hello everyone,

today I have called RC in Germany and asked them some questions about their new Racechip GTS Black, as they promise up to +86 HP and +126 Nm for my engine.

https://www.racechip.com/shop/bmw/x5...0kw-650nm.html

When I asked them for a proof (performance diagram etc..), they told me, that they do have those performance diagrams for a 50i but they do not make them available it because of trade secret

sounds not serious for me..

Does someone have any experience with the RC GTS Black on a 50i? performance diagram ?

thank you

RC GTS is not yet available in the US.
But, my guess, it is the same thing, just more gimmick. Like iPhones,

Unfortunately, no.
But maybe the forum members who has bought them from me can chime in.
I believe, none ever do a dyno run since the butt dyno gave a positive feedback already.

this would be very VERY strange.. I mean, first thing Iīd do after engine tuning is a dyno run to know, how much was the power increase

since there should be a lot of ppl having installed rc ultimate on their 50i - does any1 have results of a dyno run?

As I mentioned, AFAIK, no one did a dyno run.

I completely agree; however, an after run is useless without a baseline run on the same dyno. I did both.

r33_RGSport, you should remember by now that I did before and after dyno runs on my 50i and posted the results!!!

You can find the entire 50i tuning thread here:

My post with dyno results is number 161, or if you don't want read everything, simply click here:

The power gain is there, especially in the mid range and top end. The loss of power was noticeable the last time I removed the RC Ultimate for dealer service. The more I drive this thing, the more I think the dyno did not tell the whole story. I feel like part throttle torque gains are far greater than the dyno revealed, and there's really no way to test that on a dyno. You don't need to be driving at WOT or in Sport Mode to feel the power gain. It's there just about everywhere in the rev band... once the turbos have spooled up!

Did you have the RC GTS Black? I don't know if they just changed their product names but I see some people talking about RC Ultimate which is no where to be found in their website. What is your experience with BM3? would you recommend?

I had a RC Ultimate. That was the top of the line product when I purchased it. While it made plenty of power, I do not recommend it any longer. I ended up with weird transmission shifting at low power settings and weird vibrations at high load, low RPM situations (highway passing without downshifting, for example). Both went away when removing RC.

BM3 has tremendous customer service, data logging and customization ability. It makes great power and is reliable. I have no regrets using their product on this or my F83.
