Best vendor for lowering kit w/air suspension

I’ve looked a couple pages back in the classifieds and just found one and they had the Megan coil overs. That being said I’ve got air suspension, and looking probably at the eibach seeing most prefer those. For a 16 x5. Can someone refer me? Thanks!

The best aftermarket suspension for air suspension is the KW V3 coilover. I have it on my X5 and it's very very good. Don't do just springs as the stock shocks are really soft and cannot keep up with the increased spring rate. Your ride will be so bouncy that you'll eventually want to replace the shocks too, causing you to spend twice the amount of labor and alignment.

I agree, without doubt KW3 is the best option at the moment, not only you can adjust height, but rebound, dampening etc. It is overall a best package that indeed improves handling and reduces body roll and so on

However, I can't stop wondering why is it then that BMW officially offers AC Schintzer lowering springs? Even Dinan offers their set of lowering springs. I mean clearly BMW would not offer such option if it were to deteriorate ride by making it way too bouncy. I know H&R has a bit too much spring rates - hence bumpy ride, but afaik Eibach is pretty much close to stock ride wise
Would be good to have spring rates to compare, as numbers will speak for themselves unlike our subjective opinions, but I can't find spring rates anywhere

Megan Racing lists 14/12 kg/mm front/rear for their coilovers - but I suspect that's way too high and hence ride may be rough even with matching springs. I would like to know stock f15 spring rates to compare, my guess is they are about 9 or 10 kg/mm so if Eibach has similar or close to that rates - then it should be good imho

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the kw? I’ve never been a big coil over guy, but with my cars I’ve had never would I actually use them for the price. I usually just did lowering springs. With the rear air, potentially I’m just getting two front coil overs and shocks for the rear right? Well with the edc sensors too.

Kw makes very good stuff, I have had their springs to full coil-overs. They are worth every penny you pay for them.

I purchased some H&R lowering springs for my 2014 BMW X5 xdrive50i with standard suspension. However, I am afraid to install them after reading so many adverse discussions. Should I attempt to dump them on eBay and buy some coilovers. Just curious. I really like the look of H&R lowering springs. What should I do? Thanks.

I read the same. That’s why i went with the kw. I may part with them but I’ve got rear air and won’t work with your setup

Just put the H&R Springs on if you are dumping the car in a few years, if it's a keeper get the kws.

That being said i have kw v3s - they also ride harsher than stock ...

I’ve read where they are far more superior than stock. That being said harsher isn’t what I wanted to hear! Pmed.

I just installed the KW V3 kit on my 2016 X5 with rear air and WOW, the truck drives like an M car now. Ride is tight and well controlled, yet swallows up the bumps very nicely. Set to KW default settings. I'm on factory 20" staggered rims but have replaced the runflat tires with Continental DWS-06.

Agreed, I have mine set two clicks firmer on compression, one click firmer on rebound- whole new vehicle. I’m on 21” rims/MPSS.
