Mystery Part Found Under Hood

2017 X5 40e. I was refilling my wiper fluid when I noticed a loose part. I have no idea what it is. It looks like it was left there by accident during manufacture. I found it on the passenger side of the vehicle behind the yellow first responder tag in the photo below.

It's rubber and looks like its for protecting wires or hoses through an opening. Printed on the piece (does not seem to correspond to a part # I can find):

BMW 12.52 7600922 586509 10 RD >EPDM< 01

Anybody have any idea where it is from?

No idea what it is but it looks like shielding used to protect a hose or harness as it passes through a metal panel or firewall.

if it is in fact a part of your vehicle, look for the part number stamped on the part itself and run to realoem.com and run a query. It will tell you where the part resides in the car via schematics.
