Lost HVAC Vent "aluminum" trim piece

Last time I rode in my wife's X5, I noticed the trim on one of the vents was missing. Maybe I vaccummed it off the last time I cleaned it, but I doubt it. I searched and it looks like this is common on some models. Has this happened to anyone else? The part is not available separately and complete vents are expensive. There is a small business that sells nothing but vent tab trim like this, but they dont' have F15/F16 tabs yet. I think used part take-offs is the way to go for replacements.

It's a real bummer it came off. Looks like it is secured with clips... but a spot of adhesive would go a long way to help.
