Enter Eibach pro-kit: very subtle, perhaps 1" lower all around, but makes all the difference visually imho. Finally the wheels and the body look like they belong to a single car ... The handling is also improved with less body roll. Ride is - possibly - better? Feels that way. It's certainly no worse. Very very happy with the results all around.

'Thanks for sharing your before and after pics. You X5 looks great. Can you tell me if you notice any difference in ride quality? What is more controlled over rough roads and less bouncy? Thanks

Install cost for Eibach springs???

Just asked my service manager how much to install spring and do an alignment, he quoted me $1,500. Does that seem like a lot to you guys? I was thinking more around 300 - 500, but is this a labor intensive mod? I was really thinking about getting the springs, but now I'm not so sure.

Let me know what you think. Should I shop around to other dealerships?

Thanks

That's way too high of a price! I was quoted about $600 for install and alignment from the shop I had the MPE installed at. I would just find an indy shop and skip the dealership. They are going to look through the same program to get you the estimates.

Indy shop will do for $400-$500 plus alignment. Find some costco approved BMW service shop for better price. Or find the BIMR shop that specialized in BMW .

Thats too much, It should be around 200-250 and that's for 4 springs.

I did my front only for $100, plus theres no need for an alignment afterword.

Don't find the cheapest place.
You will still need a good people doing their job.
Don't be like shops in LA who will take job for less than what it supposed to be and doing it half-ass or don't give a damn with your car.
Myself, I charge decent labor rate and people still low ball me by saying that such and such shop willing to do it for half the price.
Guess what I said, go ahead. Just don't come back and said "You told me so".
Knowing how to hold a wrench and know how to wrench is different.
I have seen cars came in that wasn't done properly, after some digging, we found out that the shop who work on the cars hired some kids that know how to hold a wrench and called themselves mechanic.

Spacers is just icing on the cake.
It is not a must, but of course will complete the looks if you are keeping the stock wheels.

It seems we can't get rid of this snow in NY. Jlu, could you tell us where you got the springs done and what did it cost? I'm looking for a reputable place to have mine done. I purchased them already just trying to find the right place in NY.

Thanks, Rick.

Jlu88 what size spacers did you go with? Is it a flush fitment? Thanks.

So they are actually Hanmann reps which I decided to try against my better judgement but actually looked and feel pretty solid and balanced out perfect. That and 1/4 the price.

I married them with Atturo tires (the whole set cost me about as much as one Michelin replacement) but so far they ride and handle great. They get great reviews from what I could see. Just bought my wife an FPace S so needed to be budget conscious. So far I am satisfied.

As for the calipers, I decided to get them painted at the shop to cover up their factory ugly appearance and rust that was already on one. They did a great job with them and it completes the look. I will do tint next and then the final thing is a tune. Here are some other pics.

Are the Atturos the AZ850s? What size are you running and how is the ride and handling on them?

I have a set of the Atturo AZ850 on my 22s but I'm waiting until the weather is a bit better before putting the wheels on. I went with the 275/35 and 315/30.
