That's correct. Pads I bought are listed for the E70 X5M which are the same size in the MPBK.

Crazy. If I get no squealing and the brake dust remains minimal and I can get 30-40K miles out of them that people report then I will be quite happy.

I have a tendency to run through pads on every vehicle I have owned every 12-18K miles.

Ya but there are ceramic options for the MPBK that will leave minimal dust to include EBC red stuff. Ran them on my AMG for awhile before I got racing brake 2 piece rotors.

http://www.buyebcbrakes.com/ebc-brak...i-3758022.aspx

Pretty solid price for front rotors and pads. Cost of one F85 rotor.

Just heard from an F85 guy the EBC ceramics don't fit. Go figure.

Just a small update: to solve the squeal issue that drives me nuts lately I decided to give a try to this MPBK compatible front pads: https://www.amazon.com/Power-Stop-Z2.../dp/B00O6PVPMM
It's just $45 and they are ceramic with some carbon fiber blended in. It has good reviews on other forums - people claim no dust and I thought why not try them.

I'll report findings, fingers crossed

I had them on my Grand Cherokee SRT. Dust was very minimal but the did squeak some. Guys in the SRT group like the Wagner Thermoquiets. Supposedly no dust and no squeal but I never tried them. I think I'll give them a try when I take on this project.

Can you use BimmerCode to code for the brake upgrade?

Wish you could. No real guidance as to how to do it even via ESYS. Only 2 people have mentioned doing it and their guidance was very limited. Shocking it's not part of the cheat sheet to be honest.

I just did the mpbk upgrade and coding with esys literally took 30 seconds. I don’t think it will be ever anything that only bimmercode would handle.

Ya would really appreciate a walk through brother. None exists and it would be a huge input here on the forum.

I copied these notes from another post but haven't tried it yet. Are they no good?

=> Connect
=> Expert Mode
=> Coding
=> Read FA
=> Save FA
=> Editors and viewers
=> FA-editor
=> Go to HO-Wort and right click on "Edit," then type SBRE under the HO-Wort file
=> Select the FA, "Calculate FA" to verify that no errors are found after adding the SBRE.
=> Write (write) FA to your car. No confirmation window will appear after saving the FA to the car
=> Expert Mode
=> Coding
=> Read (read) the FA. You are able to see SBRE be added to the HO-Wort folder on your car.
=> Read SVT, and locate the "DSC" (File Folder SVT / ECU / DSC), then right-click the "DSC" folder and select "Code". Consolidation should start immediately.
=> Allow the coding is over, and repeat step 1 to save a copy of the new FA.
=> Disconnect the car's computer.

Ya not new. It's called the MPBK or M performance Brake Kit. BMW sells it for less. We'll getbmwparts did. And whole point of this thread is how to do it for cheap not just buy the kit. lol

Anyone on here try G2 paint? Looks like most went with the VHT? I'd really like to powder the front calipers since I have them and they are off the car but I'd be worried about trying to match the color on the rear calipers. Don't really want to take the rears off to send for powder... With G2 you can get custom colors. Was thinking Austin Yellow.

I just used these instructions and they work fine. Some of the steps are not exactly accurate in terms of writing FA to car as I think esys has changed a bit from how it looked 2 years ago and the buttons have moved, but the instructions are technically fully accurate.

Happy to walk someone through if needed.

I used G2 on my F10 works great!
.you have to use all in one shot otherwise it will harden and you won't be able to finish
