50i doesn't come with top view!

Just took delivery of a 50i and it did not have the top view as specified on the standard features!

WTF?????

Going to talk to BMWNA and see what they can do. If I've known I would've definitely paid for the surround view!

It does come with top view. It does NOT come with surround view. On the build your own website at bmwusa.com it is a stand alone option and it is included in the drivers assistance plus package.

The two cut outs on the mirrors are blocked out! NO CAMERAS there!

If you don't have rear view camera with Top View then you have not been delivered the product you paid for.

That's exactly my argument!

You think they will install it for me?

Having it installed at the dealership seems like a disaster. I'd order another one.

It happens. My father's last E70 X5 was ordered completely wrong. Lots of things that were missing. BMW fixed it, they have special facilities for doing this. It's not usually done at the dealership, but perhaps for something as small as this, maybe they will.

I ordered 50i yesterday. Current E70 has rear camera and top view. I explained to CA that I want this config again. He initially explained I needed to order $750 Surround View option to keep this config on F15. So I told him go ahead and add the package. After digging into it a little further Top View & Rear Camera are Standard on 50i. See snapshot from BMW USA Standard Features - Last Item. So I went back to dealership and showed them this and removed the Surround View option saving me $750. If you have a 50i without Top View print off the standard features and take it to the dealership and demand action!

I know what you see and what I see! This is a mistake from BMWNA! You will not get the Top View!

Dam It. I am going to make the CA earn the money and confirm it one way or another. Thanks!

Surround View = 360 Degrees. Camera in hood. Front as well as side view.
Top View = 270 Degrees. Birds Eye only.

Top View was standard on E70 50i and shows as standard on F15 but that is the debate. According to some posts Top View is not standard, just rear view camera.

Top view is standard for the 50i according to page six of the downloadable spec pdf from BMW's own website.

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...Specs/DOT.aspx

This link pulls up the download prompt for the pdf file on the F15 X5.

Agree. Read the thread, that is the debate. Someone with a 50i sans Surround View Option needs to chime in and confirm, or better yet an intelligent BMW Rep that can settle this once and for all.

Thanks!

I feel your pain. I ordered a 3.5 and got a cheap instrument cluster that has no illumination during the day. To get that instrument cluster (the one that was shown to me at the dealer when I decided to order) I had to order HUD. However, I was never told that.

How did you get that fixed by BMW? I got a call from my dealer saying I could return my X5 that they screwed up the order but I would only be able to get a new production date for March. How do I contact BMW to get this fixed as you did?

It had the wrong wheels, wrong roofrails, missing dynamic seats (they could not fix this without replacing the entire car) and a few other things. Also missing rear A/C and power rear hatch. Essentially the "easy" items were fixed and replaced in a special facility. The other items, well, it would have been too difficult. My father was quite upset, but he did not want to wait for another one. It was all done through his contact at the dealership, but the actual work was not done at the dealership.

Tks. My dealer is useless. I know if they wanted to fix they would but they offered me to return my car (told me they had a buyer for it) and would order me a new one with production date for March 2014. I cannot stay without the car. I will call BMW customer service tomorrow and see what can be done. Basically, I needed the HUD instrument cluster to get the illumination during the day.

Anyone get the 50i without surround view? If so, do you have the side cameras?

I do no think you will have the side cameras. These options do not exist. I am sorry but looks like the config info or description is wrong. You have either rear view OR rear view plus surround view option (added camearas on the side plus top view).

Ultimately, a sorry from BMW will not be enough! If I had know I would've spent the extra $750 on a $80K car.

Will I fight tooth to nails on this one!
