My X5 is missing features or just basic?

My 2015 X5 35iX doesn't have any door lighting, nor any ambient lighting , its just all covered by plastic and its very dark inside the vehicle at night. It does have footwell light in front but not back. All the icons and dash have orange lightening with two led above the center console. So is this normal for basic model x5 or am i missing features ?

do you guys know if bmw does 4 year old upgrades for ambient lighting or am i stuck like this.

Did you check the setting in the iDrive? The ambient lighting feature may be turned off.

Also - is this car from a dealership or state auction from law enforcement ? US?

According to the owners manual

Ambient light
Depending on your optional features lighting
can be adjusted for some lights in the interior.
Selecting color scheme
On the Control Display:
1. "Settings"
2. "Lighting"
3. "Lighting design"
4. Select desired setting.
To deactivate the ambient light: "Off".

Do you have the plastic strips on your dash and door?
The option would be under lighting in settings on idrive.

What's the last 7 digits of your VIN? With that info...the VIN could be decoded and we'd know exactly how your X5 is optioned.

I looked at a lot of them before I bought mine - I never saw one without it and never heard of one either!

Maybe a police version from overseas?!?!? Wild guess of course.

Sounds basic. Do you have iDrive? Do you have a partial digital dash, ie 6WA where mostof the screen is lcd? Pics would help

Remember, some countries even sell the F15 with halogen lights.
