2016 x6: Taking door trim apart, anyone?

My 2016 x6 50i has developed an ugly rattle coming from the driver’s door after driving on gravel roads for 2+ months. I have isolated the rattle to come from the plastic moulding that holds the weather stripping and touching the chassis when the door is closed. I can even make it creak when pressing against it, doesn’t feel solid. The passenger door doesn’t have this issue though.
I tried to pry it but it puts a lot of resistance and I’m afraid that I’m going to break it despite feeling very flexible. Unfortunately youtube or google have not helped, all info is on removing the door panel but not this part.

Any ideas how to remove this piece?

Taking off the door panel should give you access when I had my mperf cf trim installed my installer took apart all the other pieces as well for some extra added cleaning.

There are 5 screws you need to remove before pulling the panel out. Have you watched the bavsound video?

Yeah there are several screws. Then start at bottom and pull outward. There are clips that will pop and release.

You can search newtis as well. That will give you instructions on your entire vehicle. Worth a look.

This is what I was going to suggest, just watch the bavsound installation video. I just installed speakers from them and can tell you it takes a good amount of effort to pop that door cover off. Their plastic trim removal tool helped for sure.

Edit: here's the video I'm talking about ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wu07PkCO16g

Thank you all, that is exactly what I needed! Luckily I already have the trim tools, just need to find the time to do it.
