.EST token has nothing to do with connections.

Both the Host Mac OS and the Virtualized Windows OS must have their Firewalls disabled, and the virtual LAN Adapter must be bridged to the Host LAN Adpater.

But just so you know, E-Sys Launcher > 2.6.2 are locked from VM use.

Hm I got it to work a year ago. You need to play with your VM configurations - I think so 🤔

For E-Sys Launcher >2.6.2, add to the .vmx file the line:

SMBIOS.reflectHost = TRUE

Or use E-Sys Launcher <=2.6.2.

Ah. That may have been the case. I disabled the firewalls and the VLAN adapters are bridged. I downloaded launcher pro version 2.8.2.162 from tokenmaster's website and followed the directions there.

I will try and see if the USB to ethernet adapter will work. I used that adapter to pull fsc code in my e92 from glovebox USB(same mac, same windows vm). I dont know if anyone got it to work, but doesnt hurt to try.

Where would I find .vmx file? I looked in the installed folders and didnt find it. Probably didnt search the individual folders, but windows search didnt bring any up.

I told you:

You cannot use 2.8.2.162 in a VM.

Got it. I was confused by another post where someone said playing around with the settings worked for him/her.

Not if you do the basic coding items that pertains to Idrive system, mirror folding, headlight and headlight cleaning cycles,etc...
I have not seen any coding that can affect the consumption so far as coding.
Try looking at the BimmerCode app and the item you can code. It will give you a good idea of what can be done and if it could affect consumption.

What do you have in mind to code ?

Actually, i have done basic coding using BimmerCode app with the help of Veepeak OBD tool. Just the basic things like head unit display, Ins.cluster options etc following youtubers.

After the coding is completed, i noticed noticed the remaining miles notification in the instrument cluster is running down so quick hence posted my concern here.

Have i done something wrong? Should I revert all the coding done?

I am new to coding.
I just got Veepeak OBDCheck BLU scan tool from Amazon and plan to start coding my 2016 x5 F15 using bimmercode app(will purchase full licence). Questions:

1. Before I code anything can I remember(backup) factory settings(for dealership visits?
2. Can I code, Shazam displaying on my navigation unit when my SiriusXM's is playing songs/ I like lyrics? Maybe YouTube play/video in motion?
3. Can I code screen mirroring or apps from my Adroid phone displayed on my navigation unit.

I do have BMW connected Drive that is active untill August next year!

Hello to everyone, here is another newcomer,

I've read all through the thread (it took my 20 days) and watched the videos that are very helpful, thank you all for building such a good and very helpful thread and community here..

I have a F16 4.0d MY2016 July, and originally had NBT without Apple CarPlay.. I had it removed and installed NBT EVO and they did a very good job with perfect coding, without any errors plus extra codings such as voice command, start/stop memory and AC memory..

The only annoying thing is; the HU is getting dark automatically under the shadows during daytime.. I have searched and seen that it can be coded via HU..

I have found this solution in another thread, which says:

Value will be set to NEW

Simply change the value to OLD

My questions are:
1-As I retrofitted NBT EVO, if I try to code this, is there a risk of losing those retrofitted codings?
2-As I understand from threads, I will do only FDL coding and for FDL coding do I still need Token Master's token program?
3-I see that you always recommend to save all data beforehand, if I save them in my first session then will I be secure and could all I have currently be recoded as point zero which I might call?
4-When I code NEW to OLD, I understand that the menu option will refer to old software, does that mean all other or most other options in menus will be as in the old software version or will it just effect the specific Display?
5-Also I noticed that dimming effect in the instrument cluster too, will/may this coding also effect it?

And finally, though I have my software and cable, I want to be sure to have the latest E-SYS and psdzt data, could you send me a link to download them..

Guys,

I've tried the adapter route - didn't work / adapter not needed according to my garage, they are good guys and specialize in BMW.

They say its a BMW issue code and no hardware is needed but BMW are looking for €600 for the code !?!?

Surely there must be a solution to activate the SLI on the car for a better price ... any help or guidance is very much appreciated
