New X5 owner here

Hey guys. Just wanted to reintroduce myself. It's been a while since I've posted. I first joined this forum back in 2012 or so when I had purchased my CPO 09 335i that was near fully loaded.

Unfortunately I had to sell that car due to a job change. I went through several cars and SUVs over the years but I honestly I kept comparing them to BMW. I finally decided to wanted to go back to BMW I started my search for the perfect X5.
With these cars, buying used and trying to get EVERYTHING you want is nearly impossible since no two BMW's are exactly alike. After a year I found the X5 I wanted. I settled on not getting the leather dashboard. However I was able to score everything else I wanted including the 50i, M Sport Package, 3rd row Seat, LED, and Adaptive Cruise Control. I purchased the car from Minnesota and had it shipped home. I purchased it sight unseen with a PPI of course.

Anyway my photo bucket account was shut down due to exceeding bandwidth but here's a video of it you're curious

Yes upgrades are coming. I just installed the stealth hitch.

I was thinking about tuning but it's really fast enough as it is. I'm coming from a Q7 3.0T S Line that was decent in its own way but It's weight really hurt it.

Congrats!

I have a general question: why the X5? I know why I like it, but I wonder why other people do.

Did you get it from Minnetonka? I was looking at a similar car and it disappeared on me.

I like the X5 because it does almost everything I I want it to do. I've liked them since the E70 but in that time frame I actually went the Audi Q7 route. I liked the Q7 but it wasn't exactly fun to drive if that makes any sense. It just was just a comfortable family car and I had the 3.0T supercharged S Line Prestige. I rarely used the 3rd row in it but it was nice when it came in handy so when the F15 came within budget I started shopping for a white 50i because I like power. I wanted a 3rd row since it would be perfect for those times I would need it but I didn't need a longer SUV that had a more purposeful 3rd row.
It does everything I want. It looks amazing. It drives sporty, It has a lot of good features and technology that the competition lacked and I felt like it was the biggest bang for the buck. I love the mean stance from the staggered wheel set up on the M sports and the ability to tow 7700 lbs was also a big plus for me since I occasionally tow my car to the track and I have a small cargo trailer.

Was it at Wolf Motors, Jordan MN from back in January? If so that was me.
