Ventilator fan control has mind of its own

I recently noticed that my interior ventilator fan control acts a bit wonky when I first start the car. After shortly turning on vehicle I turn up fan control one notch but notice immediately that it goes back down. After a minute or two it works as expected. This is when AC is off, blowing outside air and not on Auto, although not sure that matters.

Anyone else face this issue and whether that is expected behavior?

Funny you mention this because mine does the opposite I have my fan speed usually always at one bar but at random times on startup it starts with two bars for like 2-4 seconds then goes back to original setting of one bar

It's not an issue but a feature. Moisture control.

Strange feature then. None of my other BMWs did this including other F series.
