Seems like they don't know how to do alignment.
Can't even align the car to the lift.

Ouch. I too got an alignment today but had no problems and even had the front tires replaced. The good thing is it is a very fixable issue.

It is...

I'm getting 2 new tires, 1 tire I'm paying for...no labor or balance..Rim is being replaced...no charge.

My only issue...I work my butt off and love this car ungodly...and it's sad that a inexperienced technician was careless on these high end vehicles.

Totally avoidable.
That's my issue.

Now they have to mount and balance 2 tires and still the alignment.

Needless to say I'm still in knots until it's back in my garage.

Thx for the support guys...

I feel exactly the same way. Unfortunately, many of the technicians simply don't care about your car (or anyone's for that matter) because frankly, neither do most of their customers. I have had similar problems with my local dealer for years with both damage and lack of attention to detail. They know me now and treat me very good, but I am still very nervous while they handle my vehicle (as are they!).

Hopefully this will get straightened out quickly for you. It's certainly a minor issue in the big scheme of things and it's easily rectified, but it does make you loose faith in the service department. At least they called you and are making it right. On more than one occasion, one of my vehicles has been returned to me damaged and no one said a thing!

Glad they are making good. I have to say they were honest and know it is their issue to take care of.

Makes me very leery to have the car out of sight for even just a moment.

On the last service the dealer recommended an alignment. I have to make an appointment with a trusted shop. I thought the dealer cost was high. More than double what I shop I have used before.

Alignment is very important for many reasons, including tyre wear and driving enjoyment, so I developed a few ideal "rules" that served me well:

1. Find a shop that allows you to follow these rules...

2. Unless there are unusual problems, the whole process takes about 20-30 minutes, is quite understandable and you should be allowed to watch and pose questions - if not, go back to 1.

3. Modern equipment is highly automatic but you should personally check in the display that the car database of the equipment shows exactly an F85 or X5 M 2015-, this is a MUST, if not, again back to 1.

4. What still may go wrong is fumbling with the wrong nuts, over- or undertightening, etc, but at the end the display must show all green bars and you should get a printout with previous and current settings.

A smile and a tip may help a lot...

At center it had a slight pull to the right but it's also true of the driving experience...I was always fighting to stay true center of the crown in the road but was always zig zagging...

All input is excellent based off of experience thx for a ll keep that in mind next time.

Don't wanna be one of those BMW stereotypes but hands down I'm so in love with this car it's not normal...lol
