… Just yet another reminder the car is an "M" … In any case I wouldn't mess around with a safety component. If not installed at factory, leave it alone.

Not on this car, but a few years ago the seatbelt failed on my Golf R. To change them on that car was a relatively easy process, it did require me to remove allot of the trim including the door sill, pillar trim, and the rear side trim. One bolt at the top and one bolt at the bottom.
For that car the bolts were one time use only, so new bolts are needed and you need to tq them to the right spec. Not sure I'd want to open the X5m for just a cosmetic change unless I had to open it for another reason. |
