Exactly. I believe grandpa was dominant, that her daughter in law is not going the quickest way, that she is 80 and doesn't want to wait. I don't believe she can climb into that seat however, nor sit there for more than 2 minutes.

My thoughts exactly. I saw the Ad on TV two days ago and I couldn't imagine an adult fitting comfortably in to the third row seat of an F15.

3rd rows shouldn't even be an option. it's heck of small for X5 in previous gen and in this one.

Well, it's been around for yearsin many mid-size SUVs starting with the ML320 back in 1998. I agree with you that it doesn't make sense if you have a big family, but let's say you have a small family (with young children), have a budget, or just want to have back seats IN CASE you ever have friends/company - it becomes useful
