Enough thrill to keep me coming back. Have 5 in the driveway right now... owned ~20.

I'm weird though. Super cars, while admittedly cool, don't do much for me. Walk right past them most of the time at the Cars n Coffee gatherings.

no codes so far, i use castrol 5w30 full synthetic.

I get a very distinct wobble at 25-28mph, it's kinda annoying. I've had all the tires balanced and rebalanced and a wheel alignment, and replaced lower front control arms. Please help

* Heads Up Display (HUD) not coming on. Even when selecting it, it doesn't light up on windshield.
* Sunroof not opening. Sometimes it works by clicking it a few times but most of the time it doesn't move at all. How do we calibrate this thing?

for the sunroof hold it open all the way for 30 seconds, then close it all the way and hold the close button down for 30 seconds

Hey guys, just picked up a 2015 x5 3.5D w m package. Will pics soon. So far love it… only question coming from all stick shifts, upon letting off throttle I feel a slight clonks as it shifts back up after acceleration. Thoughts? Not bad but perhaps just me being used to 6 speed manual. About 100k on car. Cheers, and look forward to get on this side of forum too!

I have a jerking/tugging when accelerating on my X5 40e - happens in both petrol and electric-only modes so I know it isn't a misfire/engine issue.
I thought it might be a gearbox issue but found out it could be the Transfer Case that needs a calibration (and possibly oil change).
Apart from that, I'm on 102,000 miles with no other issues - loving the X5 life!

Have an issue with my climate control panel. Sometimes it will only work if I push it in really hard.

Have checked the two blue plugs behind the unit and they are definitely locked in. No air comes out of the front centre vents or side vents.

Also, with no fan or anything on, when driving, the car will blow hot air out of the fixed air vent pointing to the windshield on the driver and passenger side. Like really warm air.

Any idea what the issues are before I donate my arm and leg to the dealership?

Hi everyone! Just got a 2018 X5 35I. I noticed the headlights don’t turn to the left but they do turn to the right. I believe in my 228i they turned both ways. Is this right?

Help with multiple warning error messages on BMW X5 2016 xdrive 35i. My X5 has run 85K miles, which is out of warranty. So I'm trying not be ripped by dealers to solve this issue, lol. Any input would be highly suggested. Thanks in advance![IMG][/IMG]

BMW X5 F15 2018- Need some help with my alarm system. I realised the other day when my daughter was in the car and it was locked the light started flashing but no sound on the alarm. Is there any setting I need to adjust. There is no chirping on the car when I lock or unlock either. Just brought the car a few weeks ago from a bmw dealer and is under warranty

when car is cold the brakes squeak when coming to a complete stop, the brakes have 11 mm left on them, original brakes, car has 26K miles.

car had 24K miles when I bought it 3 months ago as a CPO 2018 x5

any ideas what this might be? should address under the CPO certification?

Nothing I worry about, but annoying agree, I re bed them and google procedure. Worst case I pull pads and put not squeak/height temp grease on back of pads in lieu of shims and often worked well for me.

If it is still under warranty, I would take it straight to the dealer. Try testing to see if the horn still works, if that still works then it's only the alarm system bugging out.

Happens with mine too. I think the brakes just need to warm up. Does it happen only when it's cold?

It is most likely just a chassis stabilization issue. Having a chassis issue could lead to other warning messages which the car thinks are problem but really aren't. It could be a problem with your ABS, engine, suspension, or transmission. As far as the pedestrian and collision warning messages go, could just be a bad sensor, or one of your computers is freaking out because of the chassis problem.

Could be a steering issue. Do you have the variable steering option? If so I can't really help you because I have no experience with that kind of steering.

Occasionally happens to me too - squeaky brakes. Only pattern I can identify is if the car sat for a while after driving in wet conditions. But the squeak goes away after a few pumps of the brakes.

It's a pretty gruesome operation to get it out...





I recommend some serious forum-surfing to better understand the order of disassembly.

Ultimately, I took a full day to pull things apart and reinstall. Even with great care and some experience with BMW interiors I managed to snap the tabs off the rear climate controls cover. Looking at the backside of this trim, I cannot see how it can ever be removed without damaging the mounting tabs?? More likely, I just had not seen this procedure...



The manual's illustration shows the carpeted side covers already removed - I recall mine were still installed when i pulled the cover off.

Anyways, that cover cost me $189 for the replacement.

All in all, totally worth it. That rolling coin was an annoying m*%f%*ker! Ended up being a 1966 penny rolling back & forth in our vehicle.
