Tires Options 21"

I have read few posts about tires and wheels options on X5M. Obviously tires on this vehicle are massive for performance reasons. Any other tire type available besides MSS?
Also, what is the average number of miles that people are getting from rear? Would like to purchase one and I would like to get an idea on rear tires average life.
Thank you

Looks like MPSS is the way to go.
One owner posted 15k-20k miles per set.
Correct ballpark?
Basically a set per year for my driving routine.

Let me know if you're looking for a set right away. I'm swapping for snows on Monday and should be able to ship when I get my M back from the dealer.

Should be about 6/32 all around and in good shape, evaluated by a couple different shops as matter of course with different services I've had done.

I just put some PZeros on, running them at 275/40r21 and 315/35r21 combo. So far so good, I like the beefier look but most of all, the increase ride comfort.

If you're in Florida, I would stick with OEM MPSSs because they're super sticky when warm and you've got the perfect climate for them.

Whether you buy mine or someone else's or new, they're the best OEM option on 21" wheels. If that's that you're running?

IMO only go wider if anything, never narrower. I will never understand trying to get a few millimeters of comfort (height) by going with narrower tires on a 5,300lb M car...

And going a few millimeters wider is gonna gain so much more on a 5,300 lb M car. To each their own.

Absolutely, to each his own. You do you.

My comment was for the benefit of the OP because I hate to see people make their cars handle worse.

For me, the OEM tires are the baseline and anything narrower compromises handling and aesthetics.

It's disappointing that even my OEM sized snow tires are narrower. Never mind actually opting to go narrower, no way. If I could, I'd only go wider. Never narrower.

MPSS or MP4S are superior to any of the other options I've tried regardless of sizing.

Depends on driving habits of course, but IMO you'll probably be looking to replace by 20K miles. Maybe you'll get a bit more, but the tires will be showing a lot of wear at that point.

What size snows did you get? Mine is in the shop getting snows put on and the differential replaced (under warranty) and I’m pretty sure they put the OE sizes on my 612Ms.

15-20K. Previous owner swapped the tires at 20K and I’ll need to replace them next spring at 38K.

Got the Pirelli Scorpions in OEM sizes on my 21" 612s. They're a tad bit narrower but the closest thing to OEM size and rolling radius as far as I read. I posted up some pictures here too. https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1877677

Nice. I got the same tires. Hopefully I get my car back in a reasonable manner - they had to order the differential from Germany.
