Out of curiosity i thought i would attach the cluster i was discussing earlier. Had the mechanic pull it out again. And the mechanic this morning (who replaced it originally) is trying to tell me this is how they got it second hand (I don't buy it). You can see why the cluster odometer button is not working. On last question, there are three iterations of the 6WB (62 10 9 383 671, 62 10 9 395 971, 62 10 6 821 076), can any one be put into the F15 x5 as long as they are "virginized" and programmed correctly. The mechanic is trying to tell me it has to be the specific model to match. From what i have read that is not true. The date on the cluster serial number (stuck over the original part number, so part number 1 and 2) sticker is very close to the April production date of the car. Still looking into coding etc. Myself, but just trying to get to the bottom of the replaced cluster Any comments would be helpful, thanks! |

I think these are the numbers which are compatible:
62109395971 62108781321 62108796115 62108795217 I got P/N 62108796115 It more depends on if you have HUD or not. Not sure what is this sticky goo under the button is, that doesn't look normal at all. Button should be flat, yours looks stuck/sticky. I also do not recall having a second sticker on top of the original. And no it doesn't have to be specific production year, my car is 2014 and my 6WB cluster is dated 2017. If you had 6WB from the factory you don't need to do any coding, just virginized cluster. |

There is HUD in the car, and it was a 6WB off of the production line, that is why i was comparing the dates. The sticker has the second part number which i listed as compatible, underneath is the 1st part number which is listed as compatible. A bit weird.
Handy to know that all i need is a virginized cluster as it had the 6WB to begin with. Just Plug and play! The good news is the mechanic fixed the button for free, but danced around the issue of the tape and goo on the cluster. Thanks for the help and info! |

Reviving on old post looking for an answer. I read the thread and saw several mentions of coding this, but no one posted the values. I have the welcome screen coded, but the M50d logo doesn't appear beneath the tach.
I've tried coding DKOMBI / BMW_LOGO and MPM_LOGO to mpm_X5, but only the startup logo shows. EDIT: Found it. The values are as follows in case anyone else is curious: KOMBI / MPM_ENABLE --> aktiv KOMBI / M_VARIANTE --> motorsport Last edited by jdbretz; 02-24-2021 at 09:09 PM.. |

retro fitted the 6wb into F34 prod 10/15. got nav to display on KOMBI, but doesn't update regularly. essentially only before turns etc... did we miss configuring something? EVO ID4 Enabling Nav in HUD turns off HUD display and Disabling Nav in HUD allows it to display on KOMBI. Can live with KOMBI only (but I've also posts like yours), but would be nice to update the graphics and information as I drive not only at the turns Thoughts? |

Double check the I-step version in VCM but sounds like yours has latest version. shawnsheridan Might be able to help you with specific PSdZData version.

Maybe I'm reading the version information wrong, the choices I have in the box are newer that my cars current version? I don't know which one to pick.

Hi all, will flashing a F15 6WB with the latest firmware update improve the functionality? Mine is a little dim during the day and I'd like to improve the refresh rate.
Thanks.. |

I recently purchased a 2017 X5 that needs a replacement for the failing basic instrument cluster. I thought about upgrading to 6WA or 6WB, but I'm having a hard time finding the adapter in stock (part 61132471239 if I understand correctly). Any ideas where to find one?

Disregard my last post, I found a seller that also has the adapter available.
