I am having mud flaps painted to match, and the paint shop mentioned "well, we can paint the outside, but do you want us to match the white stripe in the inside of the well to the inside of the mud flaps?" And I wondered why they need to be white at all. I might paint them black! It will also solve the problem with the mud flaps too. @F30form, I respectfully disagree that this is a Rolls level detail. It is merely a level of detail you would expect BMW to have considered. |

Soooo... The nonsense on the rear windshield, black stripes or whatever they are on the side, and the part of the rear defuser that wrap around the sides all has to go.
Other than that, I like it. Oh, and +1 on the white under the fenders. Never liked that on our F15 or even E70 m sports. Who decided showing those plastic rivet looking caps was a good thing? |

I agree, the diffuser looks like a skid plate to me and the wrap around sides...UGH. I don't mind some of the carbon stuff, as long as it looks like it does something but to just tack it on, that what it looks like...just tacked on. I wouldn't mind having that engine option though!

Lol at 21" rims with performance summer tires parked on rocks to imply this truck is capable of anything off-road! Needs a drop but looks okay, not into BMW trucks at all but whatever.
If you're a real off road truck guy you won't be in any BMW or on this forum either way! |

This is the epitome of a car defined by marketing and the booming Chinese buying demographic. Its looks are the Frankenstein result of being forced to graft the current trademark BMW design elements onto a shell that's largely carry-over and shaped to comply with new safety regulations. How can we make this car look even more modern? I know, let's add random cuts and flourishes to break up the mass in even more random ways! Add to this the wholly ironic I-can-totally-do-off-roading-you-guys display and you've got a stew going.
Yikes.

Lol. The perching on rocks is like a parody of itself. No offense to people who like this, and I know there are many, but you are wrong.

For sure -- I've done this myself, but you'd have to substitute a curb for rocks. But I knew enough to not leave it there! Perhaps I would have had it been rocks
And racing stripes? As discussed previously in this forum, they must have done it so that would go faster. |

It's amazing how a couple of bumpers and touches here and there could turn this car from a normal one to an absolute beast.
Loving how it looks. Last edited by HMN; 10-19-2014 at 09:24 PM.. |
