I am watching all of these videos of F15s outside the U.S., doesn't seem they have the rear windows tinted... Is this only a US thing?

I noticed this as well. Most Euro X5's I've seen had no tints at all.

It's an option or part of a package on cars sold outside of the U.S.

In German it's called Sonnenschutzverglasung which basically means sun protection glazing.

Option code 420 I believe.

Years ago when I drove Audis I actually imported the front factory-tinted glass for some models. Got me out of many tickets for tint laws since there was no film on the window.

I don't believe this is an option on our cars.

as far as I got information the black factory windows are also not offering UV Sunprotection in The US.
In Germany/EU the serve this purpose.
We measured it at the tint workshop.
Thatīs why Iīve got them also tinted with UV Protection.

Very common with tinted windows in europe.
And yes, there is of course an additional cost for it!
Is this an option free of charge in the US??
