Wow....gigantic price difference. I guess this is where they make their money. Manufacturing is like this for all things though. If you ever look at IFixIt's break down of electronics etc, you'll see how companies build things for so cheap compared to the huge prices they sell for. Look at the price of it: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES2818057/. Around $2500...and that's a deal compared to dealer pricing where it's closer to $3k.

Well, add software, design, install, capital cost, inventory risk.....I don;t know the standalone price for the option in Europe, but I think $500-800 is a steal as it is very functional and behavior (for the good) changing.
