how to test?
thanks for all the work everyone put in, I'm eternally grateful.
I followed the guide and using e-sys did the coding, I have the 552 and 5ac features. I gave it a day to settle. But i'm confused on how to use and test it. Do I turn on the high beams or the auto high beams? does the lights switch need to be in on position or the auto on position? |

I can confirm that using Bimmercode does NOT work. I tried with Bimmercode and it had some impact but not the full capability. I paid to have someone remotely code it using esys (as there are I think 100 parameters per light) and the results are amazing. Did exactly what it shows in the video in the beginning of this thread.

Thanks for this amazing thread and all the efforts put into this!!!
I have a 2018 X5d with LEDs. I tried to do the Bimmercode version as directed in the YouTube video, but did not work correctly. I then used ESys with the instructions on the posted PDF that are very detailed, including changing VO codes and coding the BDC and the 2 FELs. It was a lot of coding, but as long as you follow the instructions, it is pretty easy to do. It is really cool feature and works very well. Impressive technology. Only caveat is that GFHBs do not function if you keep your foglights on. It defaults to the regular auto on/off function with the foglights on.... Also, if you have done coding to the car via BimmerCode, you will likely have to re-do these after you change the VO codes (like mirrors, rear foglights, and all other BDC functions that you coded) |

Almaretto,
Since I am new I can’t send you the pm, but I would be also interested in having the GFHB remotely coded. I went through all the posts and still feel confused. I think I managed to code VLD through bimmercode, but we could verify that too, if it is all done properly (not quite sure if it works as intended. Especially, with high speeds. I don’t think I am getting the 20% extra light). I do also have a questions about lights pivoting to follow the road on turns. I drove recently a new x5 from 2021 and felt that lights did a better job in lighting the road. Is it possible to increase pivoting in F15? I have 2018 x5, xdrive x50i, m line, prod 4/5/2018 with adaptive led. |

It took me a while, but I made it! I was not aware that our Bimmerpost Experts made the cheat codes and built them into ESYS. Those worked for me (i double checked the values and compared with instructions for F15 and everything worked). I took the car for a ride and that GFHB is amazing! I also coded VLD. It seems to work differently (better) now in comparison to what I got after coding with bimmercode.
I used this link to set up the ESYS https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/c...-links.983244/ And this to activate http://tokenmaster.blogspot.com/2019...o-282.html?m=0 I downloaded the instructions: https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...1&d=1452268635 And watched this youtube video to get an idea what to click in esys, since I had no idea how to use it I also read this, when got ethernet error https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/e....738698/page-5 Thank you Almaretto, TokenMaster, opasha, dmnc02 and shawnsheridan for your work! You are awesome! I wish I had your skills. Last edited by tventz; 01-04-2022 at 05:37 PM.. |

Additionally, when I searched through the internet to get an idea how to use esys, I found this video. What do you think about those operation modifications for adaptive leds? I liked presented arguments and did the same in my x5.
