Help Telematics Unit location ??

Hi,
Having issues with my gps ..

Any idea where this unit lives in an X5 and does it effect the gps?

You need to replace the battery. It can be ordered via dealer. It is used for SOS call in case of crash.

Where did you find it?

Is in a carrier pack on the left side in boot
You need to take out the side cheek to get at it

I'm having the same issue but can't seem to find the TCM despite the descriptions above. Could there be an alternate location for this battery?

What year is your x5

For newer F15/16 with NBT EVO the module is under the shark fin antenna.

Yes, but it is not a Sim card, it is a chip containing an esim. In order to swap the esim you need to de solder the chip.

Thanks for the reply. So the whole unit needs to be changed to one with a 4G esim?

4G means ATM instead of TCU.

first of all gents thanks for all the help,

i have managed to locate unit in my X5 2015
i had this error at start SOS call system fail

the unit is located in boot area standing behind the car left hand side (UK)
remove the side panel and its there very easy to remove and reinstall

please see pictures its less than an hours job

Hi , is there anyway to find out which telematics part number was in the exactly before it was removed as mines is missing , thanks

www.realoem.com or call your dealer and they can run your VIN and confirm which p/n you need.
