Uniden R7 hardwired with the Blendmount as well and Mirror Tap kit.
Looks good. I drive 5 mph over everywhere I go so never needed a detector, but that's a clean install.

I just installed a dash/rear cam setup on ours. I'll update the thread sooner or later. Does the blendmount tap into the mirror wiring? I used the fuse box and it was a bit of a pain.

Yep, the wire tap that came with it just taps the plug for the mirror. Easy peasy install, took me less than 5 mins. You don't need the Blendmount for the mirror tap, can be purchased separately.

Car got a clean bill of health at 33k miles from the dealer on a leak check and inspection since warranty expires on 8/15. Got the rear hatch rattle fixed as well as what was apparently a rattle in the cargo cover.

Another oil change coming up then hopefully the coilovers will be here soon. Did plugs at 28k and cabin filters at 25k, anything else I should look into before all the stuff at 40?

Thinking about adding a remote controlled cutout before the muffler. Anybody doing this on an n55?

Damn I feel like you've been waiting for the coilovers forever! I just ordered a set the other day...let the wait begin.

A little detail and debadge today since I added the fender vents recently and it looked weird to me.

Coilover wait continues…

Maybe some M style mirror caps while we wait.

How many weeks on wait are you for the coilovers?

Got sent a quick snap of the car from our first KC Cars and Coffee of the year this weekend. Roof bars also on now, basket en route.

Still waiting for coilovers…

Looks good sukhk527. I love the way X5s look with the roof racks. I need those M front grille surrounds on the wife's. Can't stand the chrome surrounds. Those fender vents are tempting too...

But one suggestion. Needs more fender flare with those 20s.

I was thinking that last night. Now that I look at it more with the 20's, it's begging for flares.

Man I hate the wait has been so long on the coilovers but you're doing it right with the swift upgrade. The more I drive mine the more I realize the spring rates aren't stiff enough. I bottom out on some of the smallest deviations when I'm carrying a decent amount of speed. And I'm not really that low...far from slammed by my standards.

Yea I don't plan on dropping more than 2 inches either. But the linear spring should prevent it from squatting as much so I'm glad I went that route too. Just got updated that they're swapping the Swifts on this week so just a few more weeks.

Seems like you're outside of the 6-8 weeks time frame?

I tried to PM you back a few weeks ago about the coilovers but your PM box was full. You made the right decision I believe. I have a feeling after I hear your feedback I'll want to do the same, but I'm about over putting money in this thing.

Sounds good...

... but more info on the E28. I'm always in the market for one. '83 528e auto was my first car in high school. Loved it and want another.
